Honour (Singapore) Celebrates SG60 and a Decade of Impact
Honour (Singapore) marked a significant milestone on November 26, 2025, by celebrating Singapore’s 60th anniversary of independence and the tenth anniversary of its own founding. The Honour SG60 Gala Dinner, held at a prestigious venue in Singapore, was officiated by Guest-of-Honour President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. The event gathered leaders from various sectors to recognize the values that have been instrumental in shaping the nation’s stability and success.
The gala not only celebrated Singapore’s six decades of independence but also reflected on the journey of Honour (Singapore), which was established by Mr. Lim Siong Guan, former Head of Civil Service and President of GIC. Over the past ten years, the organization has been dedicated to fostering a Culture of Honour and Honourable Behaviour throughout the country. This initiative serves as a foundation for Singapore’s ongoing peace, progress, prosperity, and resilience.
Renewed Commitment to Community Values
As Honour (Singapore) enters its second decade, it has adopted the motto “Making the Future,” signaling a renewed commitment to enhancing its impact across communities, workplaces, and schools. The organization aims to deepen its focus on youth programs, emphasizing the importance of nurturing a caring and gracious society that can effectively navigate an increasingly complex world.
During the gala, the need for ongoing support for community initiatives and public education efforts was highlighted. Honour (Singapore) operates as a donor-funded charity, relying on grants and donations from individuals, foundations, and businesses. The event served as a platform to raise funds for both existing and new programs.
Special recognition was given to Mr. Robert Ng, who sponsored the full cost of the Gala Dinner. Honour (Singapore) also expressed gratitude to its Founder Donors, including the Far East Organization and the Stephen Riady Foundation, both of which have contributed over $1 million each. Additionally, the Benefactor Donor, Wilmar International Limited, has donated over $500,000, along with other generous donors who have supported the organization over the years.
A Night of Celebration and Reflection
The Honour SG60 Gala Dinner was not just a celebration of achievements; it was also a moment of reflection on the values that have shaped Singapore. The event emphasized the importance of trust, accountability, integrity, and mutual respect, which Honour (Singapore) has worked to instill in individuals, families, and communities.
As the nation looks toward the future, Honour (Singapore) remains committed to its mission of cultivating honourable behaviour throughout society. The organization envisions a future where these values continue to underpin Singapore’s growth and cohesion.
Overall, the Honour SG60 Gala Dinner was a testament to the enduring spirit of Singapore and a reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold the principles that have guided the nation for 60 years.
