Hong Kong Fashion Fest 2025 Launches with Global Flair and Innovation
The highly anticipated Hong Kong Fashion Fest 2025 is set to commence on November 22 and will run until December 7, 2025. This vibrant festival will take place at various cultural landmarks and key design venues throughout Hong Kong, showcasing the intersection of fashion, culture, and innovation. Organized by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the event aims to unite local and global fashion talents through a series of flagship programmes.
The festival will offer a rich array of experiences, emphasizing Hong Kong’s unique blend of traditional craftsmanship, modern haute couture, and sustainable practices. This year’s line-up includes seven major events designed to engage both residents and visitors, providing a platform for diverse artistic expressions and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
Highlighting Global Talent and Sustainability
Among the key highlights is the “Virtuose: The Artistry of Couture 2025,” which aims to spotlight rising stars and established designers in haute couture. Scheduled for November 22 at Central Pier No. 4, this event will feature a runway show with four talented next-generation designers: Peet Dullaert, Tomo Koizumi, Zhaoyi Yu, and Caroline Hu. Set against the stunning backdrop of Victoria Harbour, the show will be broadcast globally on the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association’s YouTube channel, allowing audiences worldwide to witness the latest creations in real time.
The festival will also see the return of the Hong Kong Denim Festival, now in its fourth edition, themed “Denim Artistry.” This event will transform Tsim Sha Tsui’s fashion hotspots into immersive hubs of denim culture, featuring exhibitions, in-store promotions, and fashion showcases. The festival traces the history of denim from its 17th-century origins in France to its contemporary status as a symbol of freedom and authenticity. The public can explore these themes at the exhibition located at the Gateway Arcade Atrium in Harbour City, which is open free of charge until December 11.
Innovative Collaborations and Digital Fashion
The “Play, Pose & Pixel” Digital Fashion Exhibition, a collaboration between the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and the Hong Kong Design Centre, will also make its debut. Curated by local pioneer FabriX World, this exhibition features over 20 artist-designed dolls and vintage collectibles from iconic brands such as Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. Visitors will have the opportunity to create their own avatars on Roblox and experience augmented reality try-ons, showcasing innovative designs from emerging talents like Derek Chan and Kevin Germanier. The exhibition is open now at Gate33 Gallery in AIRSIDE, Kai Tak, until December 2.
Additionally, “Fashion to Reconnect: A Tale of Two Style Capitals,” co-presented by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at City University of Hong Kong and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, will feature sustainability-themed installations and a fashion exhibition celebrating the cultural interplay between Hong Kong and Italy. This exhibition will run from November 25 to December 24 at ArtisTree, showcasing creations from prominent designers.
The WWD x SJ Global Fashion & Business Conference and the WWD Fashion Loves Culture Gala will bring together industry leaders and creatives for a day of networking and discussions. Notable speakers include Kim Jones and Jason Wu, with special appearances from actors Kiernan Shipka and Damson Idris.
Moreover, the Fashion Summit (HK) will explore sustainable fashion through exhibitions, guided tours, and workshops at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, while the Fashion Asia Hong Kong event will showcase emerging designers through its “10 Asian Designers to Watch” Exhibition.
With an extensive and dynamic programme, Hong Kong Fashion Fest 2025 promises to be a celebration of creativity and innovation. The festival invites industry participants and the public to engage with fashion in all its forms, exploring a rich tapestry of cultural expression.
