Chiron Medical Expands Breast Health Campaign with 300 Free Screenings

Chiron Medical Group has announced an expansion of its “1:1 Breast Health Empowerment Charity Campaign,” increasing the number of free 3D mammogram screenings offered to women in need from 105 to 300. This initiative aims to promote accessible healthcare, particularly during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign not only provides free screenings but also facilitates personalized medical consultations for underprivileged women in Hong Kong.

The initial phase of the campaign, launched earlier this year, successfully engaged low-income participants through interactive workshops that highlighted the importance of self-care and routine screenings. Building on this momentum, Chiron Medical is partnering with two prominent non-profit organizations—the Caritas Mutual Aid Centre for Single Parent Families and the Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres—to identify beneficiaries and ensure they have access to these essential services.

The new phase follows positive feedback from the first round of the campaign, which revealed significant gaps in awareness regarding self-detection and the necessity of professional screenings. To address these issues, Chiron Medical will also conduct breast cancer awareness seminars alongside the expanded screening offerings.

Ms. Fong Nga-yee, Head of Clinic Operations and Head of Nurse at Chiron Medical Group, expressed optimism about the campaign’s impact. She stated, “The inaugural phase of our ‘1:1 Breast Health Empowerment Charity Campaign’ was heartening, as we witnessed underprivileged women embracing the workshops with enthusiasm and posing insightful questions. Many who initially hesitated about screenings were motivated to proceed after attending. In this second round, we aim to reach even more women in need, debunk myths surrounding breast cancer detection, and highlight the life-saving benefits of early intervention.”

The campaign operates on a straightforward model: for each paid 3D mammogram, Chiron Medical sponsors a free screening for a woman from an economically disadvantaged background. This approach not only supports individual health but also fosters a community culture of proactive health advocacy.

Ms. Vanness Lo, Team Leader of the Caritas Mutual Aid Centre, highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting that many female caregivers often neglect their own health while focusing on family needs. She emphasized, “We are honored to collaborate with Chiron Medical Group in launching the ‘1:1 Breast Health Empowerment Charity Campaign.’ This initiative will feature breast health seminars and provide eligible women with free 3D mammography screenings, helping them understand their health status early and recognize the importance of prevention and early detection.”

The Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres also commended Chiron Medical’s generous support, noting the positive influence it has on community awareness. Ms. Sisi Liu, Director of HKFWC, stated, “We sincerely thank Chiron Medical for donating medical check-up quotas to women in need at HKFWC.
