Kaohsiung is gearing up to welcome K-pop sensation Twice this Saturday, marking the group’s first performance in Taiwan since their debut a decade ago. The South Korean pop group, which includes five members from South Korea, three from Japan, and Chou Tzu-yu from Tainan, has ignited excitement among fans in the port city.

To celebrate, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai announced a series of vibrant events, including themed light shows and traffic signals. These initiatives aim to enhance the festive atmosphere leading up to the concert as part of the “This Is For” world tour.

The city has already launched a pop-up store at the Eslite Spectrum Fashion Square, which opened on March 30 and will run through the weekend. The store features limited-edition merchandise and exclusive perks for fans eager to celebrate the group’s arrival.

Mayor Chen has also introduced the “Tour Visual Blue” light show, which commenced on March 30 and will illuminate prominent landmarks throughout Kaohsiung each evening from 17:30 to 23:00 until the concert date. Locations include the Great Harbor Bridge, Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, and Love River. This initiative follows a similar event for Blackpink last month, where pink lights adorned the city.

In addition to the light displays, the city government has modified some traffic signals to promote the concert with messages such as “Look Twice” and “Twice 2025 Kaohsiung.” Announcements featuring the voices of Twice members will also be played across the Kaohsiung MRT system from March 31 until the concert, encouraging fans to utilize public transportation.

Mayor Chen has displayed his enthusiasm for the event by changing his profile picture on social media, sporting blue hair in a nod to Twice, reminiscent of his previous pink hair for Blackpink’s visit.

With the stage set and the city alive with energy, fans eagerly anticipate an unforgettable experience as Twice takes the stage in Kaohsiung.
