Man Rescued from Chimney After Attempting to Save Dog

A man became trapped in a chimney at Rockwell Park in Bristol, Connecticut, while trying to rescue his dog from a locked bathroom. On Sunday morning, park employees alerted police about a potential burglary, reporting that someone was stuck in the chimney. Firefighters arrived on the scene to conduct the rescue.
According to police, the incident occurred after the bathroom door automatically locked, leaving the man’s dog inside. Firefighters faced a challenging situation, requiring them to dismantle parts of both the chimney and the building to free the man. The damage caused during the rescue is estimated to range between $5,000 and $10,000.
Fortunately, the man was unharmed during the ordeal. However, he was arrested and charged with burglary, trespassing, and criminal mischief. He has been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 7.
The incident highlights the risks involved in attempting to enter locked buildings and the potential consequences of such actions. Local authorities continue to remind residents to seek help in emergency situations rather than resorting to dangerous measures.
