Azerbaijani Researcher Gains Attention for Longevity Study in Italy

Azerbaijan’s research on longevity garnered significant attention at the 2nd Conference on Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Stem Cells held in Milan, Italy. The country’s representative, Gular Zeynalova, a doctoral candidate at the Abdulla Karayev Institute of Physiology and an instructor at Baku Basic Medical College No. 2, presented her findings on the biochemical indicators of aging in centenarians.

Her presentation, titled “Age Dynamics of Biochemical Indicators During Physiological Ageing in Centenarians Living in the Goychay Region of Azerbaijan,” drew interest from researchers and attendees from various countries, including the USA, the UK, Australia, and Japan. The event featured presentations from renowned scientists, emphasizing the global significance of biochemistry and biotechnology.

Zeynalova’s research received high praise from leading experts at the conference, with several professors expressing their gratitude for her work. The relevance of her topic led to numerous inquiries from attendees, highlighting the pressing interest in the biochemical factors that influence human longevity. As a recognition of her contributions, Zeynalova was awarded a special certificate for her scientific work.

In her remarks, Zeynalova stated, “In today’s world, the importance of biochemistry is extremely great. This field of science plays a crucial role in the development of medicine and healthcare, in identifying the causes of diseases and methods of their treatment.” During her presentation, she discussed critical issues, including lipid peroxidation and the impact of free radicals, which contribute to premature aging.

Zeynalova’s academic journey began at Baku State University, where she earned her degree in Biochemistry. She later obtained a Master’s degree from the Institute of Biology and Medicine at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral studies at the Institute of Physiology, under the auspices of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Science and Education, while also completing advanced training in biochemistry.

Her commitment to research has led her to present at numerous local and international scientific conferences. Additionally, she is the author of several scientific articles and has published the book “Modern Medical Laboratory Diagnostics.” Zeynalova’s work not only reflects her dedication to advancing scientific knowledge but also positions Azerbaijan within the global conversation on health and longevity.
