Samsung Malaysia Announces Top 10 Semi-Finalists for Solve for Tomorrow 2025

Samsung Malaysia Electronics has revealed the top 10 semi-finalists for the 2025 edition of its innovative initiative, Solve for Tomorrow. This year, more than 210 students and mentors from across Malaysia participated, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills in a challenge focused on addressing real-world issues through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
The top 10 teams were selected after a comprehensive evaluation by a distinguished panel of judges, highlighting their potential to develop impactful solutions for pressing societal challenges. According to Elaine Soh, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Malaysia, “Solve for Tomorrow is not just a competition; it is a platform that empowers young minds to turn ideas into solutions that can change the world.” She emphasized that participants gain essential life skills, including collaboration and critical thinking, which are vital for their future success.
The initiative encourages students to apply their STEM knowledge to tackle issues in various fields such as sustainability, education, sports, and health. Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Mas Sahidayana Mohktar, Director of Universiti Malaya’s STEM Centre, stated, “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a movement that inspires youth to think critically and act boldly.” He expressed pride in supporting the next generation of changemakers and encouraged all participants, even those who did not make the shortlist, to continue innovating.
Upcoming Workshops and Grand Finale
Before the grand finale, the selected teams will participate in a Design Thinking Workshop (DTW) scheduled for October 11, 2025. During this workshop, teams will present their ideas to judges and receive constructive feedback from Samsung Malaysia and Universiti Malaya. Mentors will assist in refining the concepts, enhancing their feasibility, and improving the scalability of the proposed solutions.
The culmination of the competition will take place on December 6, 2025, when the winners will be announced and awarded exciting prizes for their innovative contributions. This event promises to highlight the creativity and determination of Malaysia’s youth while reinforcing the importance of STEM education.
