Carol Liao of BCG Named Among Asia’s Most Powerful Women 2025

Carol Liao, Managing Director and Senior Partner as well as Chair of Greater China at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), has been included in the Fortune Most Powerful Women Asia 2025 list. This prestigious recognition highlights Liao’s significant contributions to innovation and growth within the business landscape of Asia.

The Fortune list, now in its third year, honors 100 influential women who are shaping the future of business, culture, and society across the region. This year’s honorees include 28 women in various global or regional roles at Fortune Global 500 companies, as well as six who serve in CEO, Chairman, and other executive positions at firms listed in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500.

Yasushi Sasaki, BCG Asia Pacific Chair, praised Liao’s leadership qualities, stating, “Carol embodies the leadership qualities that define the future of business in Asia: resilience, vision, and an unwavering commitment to people and purpose.” Her inclusion on the Fortune list is seen as a testament to her influence on clients, colleagues, and the broader business community.

Liao is recognized as the first woman Chair of BCG Greater China and brings over three decades of consulting experience. Under her guidance, BCG Greater China has grown to nearly 1,000 professionals and expanded its portfolio to include a diverse array of clients across industries, focusing on areas such as digital transformation and sustainability. She has also led BCG’s CEO Advisory Program in the Asia-Pacific region, a platform that has provided vital support to over 500 CEOs and CXOs facing strategic challenges.

Liao is a sought-after speaker at prominent forums, including the World Economic Forum, Boao Forum for Asia, and APEC Business Council Forums. In addition, she serves on the steering committee of the Mulan Club, a leading network for women business leaders in China.

To honor the MPW Asia 2025 recipients, Fortune will host an award ceremony and leaders’ breakfast during the Fortune Innovation Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on November 17-18, 2025.
