Yakult Singapore Launches Y1000: A New Era in Probiotics

Yakult Singapore has unveiled its most concentrated probiotic drink to date, the Y1000, which contains over 100 billion live probiotics per bottle. Launched on October 1, 2025, this new addition to the Yakult family aims to promote better gut health among Singaporeans. The introduction of Y1000 expands the brand’s existing probiotic offerings, which include Yakult Ace Light® and Yakult Gold®.
The Y1000 drink has already garnered international acclaim, winning the Food Category Gold Award at the DIME Trend Awards and the X Trend Award in 2022. These accolades highlight its popularity in Japan, where it is part of the Yakult 1000 series, selling an impressive 3 million bottles daily.
Commitment to Health and Innovation
The health benefits of Y1000 are backed by over 90 years of probiotic research. It features the unique Lacticaseibacillus paracasei strain ShirotaTM (LcS), specifically cultivated to survive the digestive process and reach the intestines alive. This strain plays a critical role in supporting the growth of beneficial bacteria, reducing harmful bacteria, and aiding digestion.
Maintaining a balanced gut is essential for overall well-being, influencing everything from nutrient absorption to the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, which affects mood and energy levels. Furthermore, good gut health can help mitigate the risk of conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which impacts one in five Singaporeans.
Accessible Probiotic Choices for All
Sunami Masaaki, Managing Director of Yakult Singapore, expressed pride in the launch, stating, “Singaporeans have trusted Yakult since 1979. This year, as the nation celebrates SG60 and Yakult marks its 90th anniversary, we are proud to continue this journey with the launch of Y1000 in Singapore.”
Beginning October 1, Y1000 will be available for S$3.50 per bottle at selected FairPrice supermarkets and Japanese supermarkets, including Isetan Scotts and MEIDI-YA at Millenia Walk and Great World City. This expansion offers Singaporeans more options to incorporate probiotics into their daily routines, reinforcing Yakult’s commitment to quality and scientific innovation.
Founded in 1978, Yakult Singapore has grown considerably from its humble beginnings. The company now operates from a state-of-the-art facility at Senoko Avenue, where fresh Yakult products are produced daily, ensuring the highest quality for consumers. Yakult continues to promote the health benefits of its unique probiotic strain, L. paracasei strain ShirotaTM, as part of its ongoing mission to enhance the health of people throughout Singapore.
