Roche Partners with OASES to Innovate Primary Healthcare in Hong Kong
Roche has announced a strategic partnership with the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) aimed at enhancing primary healthcare innovation in Hong Kong. This collaboration, revealed on October 10, 2025, will bolster Roche’s presence in the city over the next five years, reinforcing Hong Kong’s status as a key player in the Asia Pacific life sciences and medical technology sectors.
The initiative combines the strengths of Roche’s Pharmaceutical and Diagnostics divisions, each contributing unique insights and capabilities. This commitment underscores Roche’s belief in Hong Kong’s long-term potential as a center for medical innovation, benefiting from a supportive government ecosystem and strategic initiatives designed to advance primary care.
Hong Kong’s well-established healthcare landscape is viewed as an ideal environment for Roche to implement tailored solutions, including AI-enabled diagnostics and advanced therapies that aim to improve patient outcomes. As part of this partnership, Roche will continue to support the Primary Healthcare Blueprint, collaborating with local entities to foster innovation.
Leadership Insights on Healthcare Transformation
Amy Ho, General Manager of Roche Hong Kong Limited, emphasized the significance of Hong Kong’s vibrant healthcare ecosystem. She stated, “Hong Kong’s vibrant healthcare ecosystem and strong policy support make it an ideal hub for innovation. At Roche, we are guided by our purpose statement, ‘Doing now what patients need next’—through our collaboration with OASES, we are deepening our commitment to bring breakthrough therapies and diagnostics to patients faster, while nurturing local talent and research capabilities.”
In addition, Ronald Lo, General Manager of Roche Diagnostics (Hong Kong) Limited, highlighted the urgency of addressing chronic diseases, which, according to the World Health Organization, account for 75% of deaths globally. This statistic has prompted a shift towards preventive healthcare as a long-term investment. Lo stated, “Roche supports the Hong Kong Government’s Primary Healthcare policy by advancing cutting-edge diagnostics in chronic disease management. Through OASES, we aim to bring advanced diagnostic solutions to more patients, fostering meaningful collaborations to build a sustainable healthcare system that improves lives.”
