Vin Diesel Confirms Role for Cristiano Ronaldo in Fast X: Part 2
American actor Vin Diesel has confirmed that a role has been written specifically for Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming film Fast X: Part 2. Diesel, 58, shared a photo with Ronaldo on his Instagram account, hinting at the footballer’s involvement in the enduring Fast & Furious franchise. He stated, “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology…I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…”
The eleventh and final installment of the franchise is scheduled for release in April 2027. Alongside Diesel, who portrays Dom Toretto, the film is expected to feature returning actors such as Dwayne Johnson (Luke Hobbs), Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw), Jason Momoa (Dante Reyes), Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto), and Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz). Diesel has also confirmed that the character of Brian O’Connor, originally played by the late Paul Walker, will appear in this concluding film.
In a statement made during Fuel Fest in June, Diesel revealed details about the final movie’s production. He indicated that he had been in discussions with Universal Studios, which expressed a desire for the finale to be released in April 2027. Diesel outlined three conditions for the film: a return to Los Angeles, a focus on car culture and street racing, and the reunion of Dom and Brian O’Connor. He remarked, “That is what you’re going to get in the finale.”
Paul Walker tragically passed away on November 30, 2013, in a car accident before he could complete filming for Fast & Furious 7. To honor his legacy, filmmakers employed CGI and the expertise of VFX artists, along with the assistance of Walker’s brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker, to ensure his character could make a final appearance. VFX supervisor Joe Letteri elaborated on the technical challenges, stating, “There really wasn’t room to let anything slip. It was too important to complete the story in respect to Paul’s memory – to make sure that when you watched it, you didn’t think about any of the work that we did.”
As anticipation builds for Fast X: Part 2, the inclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo highlights the franchise’s ongoing appeal and commitment to bringing diverse talent to the screen. The combination of action, nostalgia, and celebrity cameos is set to make the final chapter an exciting event for fans worldwide.
