Munsang College Celebrates 100 Years with Grand Ceremony

The Centenary School Year Commencement Ceremony for Munsang College took place on September 11, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. The event gathered over 900 attendees, including teachers, students, parents, alumni, and distinguished guests, to honor a century of educational excellence and to look toward future developments.
Celebrating a Legacy of Excellence
Since its establishment in 1926, Munsang College has remained committed to its mottos, “One for All, All for One” and “Light and Life.” The school has focused on holistic education, nurturing countless talented individuals who have gone on to make significant contributions to society. The commencement ceremony not only celebrated past achievements but also emphasized the school’s dedication to innovative education, technological integration, and a global perspective, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
Among the honored guests at the ceremony was Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, JP, the Secretary for Education. In her address, Dr. Choi highlighted the importance of values education as a cornerstone of whole-person development. She stressed the integration of national identity and law-abiding principles into the education system, particularly through initiatives like national security education.
Dr. Choi commended Munsang College for its active promotion of mental health awareness on campus, referencing the school’s participation in the Education Bureau’s (EDB) 4Rs Mental Health Charter, which focuses on rest, relaxation, relationships, and resilience. She praised the school’s efforts in organizing activities such as Chinese Culture Week and student exchange programs with mainland sister schools, which help deepen students’ understanding of Chinese culture and heritage.

The ethos of Munsang College encourages students not only to strive for academic excellence but also to engage in diverse learning experiences and community service. This approach aligns closely with the EDB’s vision for comprehensive development. Dr. Choi expressed her gratitude to the teaching staff for their dedication and urged students to embrace the opportunities presented in the new school year, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and personal growth for future contributions to society.
