Taking place at various venues across the city, Just For Laughs Singapore will include solo shows from acclaimed performers such as Jimmy O Yang, Eddie Izzard, John Bishop, and Jason Cheny. The highlight of the festival is the gala event on November 26, hosted at the Esplanade Theatre. This special evening will feature performances from a stellar lineup that includes Jason Cheny, Jamie Wang, Brian Tseng, Jason Leong, Douglas Lim, Norah Yang, and Vivek Mahbubani.
Tickets for the gala will be available for presale starting at 10:00 on September 3 and will remain available until 11:59 on September 4. General sales will begin shortly thereafter at 12:00 on September 4. According to the ticketing platform Sistic, prices for the gala tickets will range from S$68 to S$98.
In a statement, Sylvain Parent-Bedard, the president and CEO of Just For Laughs, expressed enthusiasm for the festival’s launch in Singapore. He noted, “We’re incredibly excited for the launch of Just For Laughs Singapore. As a crossroads of cultures and creativity, this city is the perfect place to host a festival dedicated to the universal language of laughter.”
Parent-Bedard emphasized that the collaboration with Bohm Entertainment would bring a lineup that resonates with local audiences and contributes to the festival’s expansion beyond its Canadian origins. This partnership aims to cultivate a global celebration of comedy that reflects the diverse cultural landscape of Singapore.
As the festival gears up for its debut, comedy enthusiasts can look forward to an exceptional array of performances that promise to deliver laughter and entertainment. With a blend of international talent and local flavor, Just For Laughs Singapore is set to become a significant event in the city’s cultural calendar.
