Reallusion Launches AI Render Plugin for Enhanced 3D Visuals

Reallusion has officially launched the open beta of its new AI Render plugin, a free tool designed to enhance the integration of its 3D software—specifically Character Creator and iClone—with ComfyUI, a leading open-source interface for AI visual generation. This release, announced on July 29, 2025, aims to streamline the process of creating stylized 3D characters and scenes, facilitating both rapid visual exploration and consistent AI-driven re-imaging for stills and video production.
The AI Render plugin provides a seamless connection between users’ AI workflows and Reallusion’s 3D tools. It allows for the transfer of complete 3D scene data—including character poses, lighting, and camera angles—directly from iClone and Character Creator without any complex technical setup. This integration is designed to be intuitive, enabling users to work visually and interactively while generating AI content.
Key Features of AI Render
The plugin comes with an array of features that enhance user experience and efficiency. Among them are 22 built-in style presets that span three categories: realistic, 3D stylized, and 2D illustration. Each preset includes optimized ControlNet settings and rendering configurations, ensuring fast and consistent results.
Users can customize AI outputs using traditional text prompts or reference images, thanks to the plugin’s support for the IP Adapter. This feature allows AI to replicate the style of any uploaded image without requiring complex prompt engineering.
AI Render distinguishes itself by utilizing 3D-driven ControlNet inputs for stable and accurate generation across frames. Unlike many AI tools that depend on 2D estimates, this plugin generates inputs directly from real-time 3D environments created in iClone and Character Creator. The library includes over 13,000 easily searchable assets, such as characters, motions, and lighting elements, making it straightforward to build structured scenes that guide the AI effectively.
Supporting Character Consistency and Storytelling
To maintain consistent character appearances in AI-generated videos, AI Render supports LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) training. While the plugin does not conduct training itself, it facilitates rapid dataset creation in iClone through batch rendering, pose libraries, and automated camera paths. Reallusion plans to provide project templates to help users generate LoRA training sets for unique characters.
For creators developing original intellectual property, AI Render offers an exciting opportunity. Users can design fully rigged, production-ready characters with Character Creator and iClone, allowing for the creation of AI-generated movies, commercials, and stylized storytelling. This ensures that characters maintain continuity and expressiveness, enhancing the overall narrative experience.
AI Render is designed to run locally but will soon feature cloud integration options for platforms like RunPod and RunComfy, enabling users with less powerful hardware to generate high-resolution outputs suitable for commercial use.
To celebrate the launch, Reallusion is hosting a public AI Makeover Challenge from July 24 to August 22, 2025. Participants can transform their Character Creator 4 (CC4) characters using AI Render, with submissions eligible to win a copy of Character Creator 5 (CC5).
For those interested, more information about the AI Render plugin and the ongoing community event can be found on the Reallusion Official Forum, where users can download the plugin, follow setup guides, and engage with the community.
