Munsang College Celebrates 100 Years with Grand Ceremony

On September 11, 2025, Munsang College in Hong Kong marked its centenary with a grand Centenary School Year Commencement Ceremony, celebrating 100 years of educational excellence. The event gathered over 900 teachers, students, parents, alumni, and distinguished guests, all united to honor the school’s legacy of nurturing talent and fostering a vision for future development.

Honoring a Century of Educational Excellence

Founded in 1926, Munsang College has upheld the mottos “One for All, All for One” and “Light and Life,” focusing on holistic education. The recent ceremony signifies a new milestone for the institution, emphasizing innovative educational practices, technology integration, and a global outlook that empowers students to realize their full potential.

The event featured notable speakers, including Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education, and Dr. Alice Yuk Tak Fun, BBS, JP, School Supervisor. In her address, Dr. Choi highlighted the Education Bureau’s (EDB) commitment to values education as fundamental to whole-person development. She stressed the importance of instilling national identity and law-abiding principles among students, integrating these concepts into national security education.

Dr. Choi praised Munsang College for its proactive approach to promoting mental health, noting its participation in the EDB’s 4Rs Mental Health Charter—which focuses on rest, relaxation, relationships, and resilience. She encouraged the school community to engage in various activities that foster a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, such as Chinese Culture Week and student exchanges with sister schools on the Mainland.

A Vision for the Future

The centenary celebrations aim to enhance students’ civic awareness and sense of benevolence, cultivating talents equipped with international competitiveness. Munsang College plans to remain deeply rooted in the community, developing sustainable educational models to contribute meaningfully to society.

To commemorate its 100th anniversary, the school will host a series of events, including a Pixel Art Collective Photo, educational forums, open days, a musical, and a gala dinner.
