The inaugural Mediacorp Screen Awards took place on August 29, 2025, recognizing exceptional talent in the production community. The Malay drama Operandi Gerhana emerged as the standout winner, securing all four awards in the drama categories for which it was nominated, including Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing.
Launched to highlight the creativity of behind-the-scenes professionals across the Chinese, Malay, and Indian production sectors, the Mediacorp Screen Awards aims to give due recognition to directors, writers, cinematographers, and other talent that contribute significantly to storytelling. A total of 21 awards were presented across seven categories encompassing both drama and entertainment.
The success of Operandi Gerhana follows its previous accolade for Best Drama at Pesta Perdana 2025. Similarly, the Tamil drama Oh Butterfly, awarded Best Drama at Pradhana Vizha 2025, took home awards for Best Direction and Best Screenplay.
The night was equally rewarding for winners in the entertainment categories. The Malay entertainment show Berani Nyanyi S2, which won Best Entertainment Programme at Pesta Perdana 2025, saw industry veteran Najip Ali honored for Best Direction.
