CyberDSA 2025 Launches in Malaysia, Fostering Regional Cyber Resilience

The Cyber Digital Services, Defence and Security Asia Exhibition and Conference (CyberDSA 2025) commenced today at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. This three-day event, which runs until October 2, 2025, has attracted over 8,000 trade professionals from 45 countries and features 150 exhibitors from 15 nations. It aims to tackle the increasingly complex cybersecurity issues facing Asia and the wider global community.
During the opening ceremony, YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, emphasized the necessity of cyber resilience, stating it has become the “new currency of trust in global trade and governance.” He highlighted that Malaysia must move beyond a reactive stance to address the realities of contemporary threats, including AI-driven attacks and vulnerabilities in supply chains. “These are evolving risks that can impact national security, economic stability, and public confidence,” he remarked.
Building a Trusted Digital Nation
Under the theme, “Pioneering the Future: Building a Resilient and Trusted Digital Nation,” CyberDSA 2025 serves as a crucial platform for translating Malaysia’s cybersecurity priorities into actionable solutions. The event aims to enhance capacity building, foster cross-border collaboration, and promote the adoption of best practices while developing robust digital infrastructure.
YBrs. Al-Ishsal Ishak, Chairman of the Board at CyberSecurity Malaysia, remarked that CyberDSA is more than an event; it embodies the convergence of strategy, technology, and community. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts, stating, “This collaborative spirit strengthens Malaysia as a regional hub for cyber resilience.” The event provides a framework for policymakers to align strategies, share intelligence, and build partnerships, positioning Malaysia as a benchmark for cybersecurity in the region.
Over the course of CyberDSA 2025, attendees will explore emerging technologies that are shaping the future of cybersecurity. A diverse lineup of 80 speakers from 15 countries will lead discussions on critical topics. The event includes the ASEAN Cyber Defence Network (ACDN) Meeting and the Military Intelligence, Law Enforcement, and Security Agencies Conference (MIESAC), which aim to unify regional leaders on cybersecurity strategies.
The Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Symposium will delve into operational resilience across various sectors. Interactive initiatives such as a Hackathon, Flash Talk Zone, E-Games showcase, and hands-on training labs in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Offensive Training will empower emerging talent to innovate and address real-world cyber challenges.
Strengthening Partnerships for the Future
YBhg. Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman of Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn. Bhd., emphasized that CyberDSA was conceived as a platform for meaningful collaboration among governments, industries, and innovators. He encouraged all participants to engage fully, stating that together, they can strengthen resilience and deepen trust in the cybersecurity landscape.
CyberDSA 2025 is jointly hosted by CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division of the Malaysian Armed Forces. This partnership underscores Malaysia’s commitment to safeguarding both its digital and defense ecosystems. The event is also supported by various governmental agencies, including the Ministry of Digital, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Defence, the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), the Malaysian Armed Forces, and the Royal Malaysia Police.
