Banyan Group, known officially as Banyan Tree Holdings Limited, is celebrating the grand opening of its 100th resort with the inaugural Rainforest Festival in Singapore. The week-long event will take place from November 27 to December 3, 2025, at the newly opened Mandai Rainforest Resort, which is part of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. The festival aims to support the President’s Challenge, a national initiative that benefits various local charities and social service organizations.

The Rainforest Festival will feature a variety of activities, including discovery trails, a sustainable weekend market, live performances, and family-friendly events. All ticket proceeds will be donated to the President’s Challenge and matched by Banyan Group, allowing for a greater impact on community support. According to Eddy See, CEO of Banyan Group, “The Rainforest Festival is our way of giving back as we mark our 100th milestone and a symbolic homecoming to Singapore.”

Celebrating Sustainability and Community

The festival focuses on sustainable design and biodiversity, showcasing how these elements can enhance wellness and community engagement. Central to the event is the Discovery Trail, a self-guided exploration of the resort’s architecture, illustrating its integration with the natural environment through elevated structures and tree preservation. Visitors can engage in birdwatching, nature walks, and interactive installations along the trail.

The Wishing Tree, a living artwork at the trail’s heart, invites guests to contribute words of hope, creating a collective expression of renewal and community spirit. Additionally, the Banyan Gallery Showcase will feature a curated collection of crafts from global artisans, each piece reflecting cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

Festival-goers will also enjoy complimentary refreshments highlighting local craftsmanship, including Gryphon Tea’s exclusive blend for the resort and wildlife-friendly coffee from Owa Coffee. A nostalgic ice cream sandwich from Singapore’s classic ice cream carts will be available, alongside upcycled botanical chocolate from Tanglin Gin.

Engaging Experiences and Live Performances

The festival’s weekend highlights include the experiential marketplace, Into the Rainforest by GREEN-HOUSE HangOut, bringing together ten local sustainable brands. This serves as a pocket-sized edition of Singapore’s largest sustainable lifestyle event, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the sensory dimensions of the rainforest.

Throughout the weekend, the festival stage will feature performances from local artists, including Joie Tan and the award-winning vocal band MICappella. The Saturday lineup also includes young musicians from Wolfgang Violin Studio and an immersive vibrational medicine song circle led by Gabrielle Mendoza.

Ticket holders can participate in exclusive activities designed to enhance their festival experience. These include sessions at the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa, yoga classes suitable for all ages, and guided nature walks that delve into the stories of native trees.

Children between the ages of 4 and 11 can join the Rangers’ Club for hands-on workshops, such as Shrink Safari, that engage them with Singapore’s native wildlife through play and storytelling.

As part of the broader celebration, the Mandai Wildlife Reserve will host additional paid experiences, with a portion of proceeds also supporting the President’s Challenge. This includes guided park tours and behind-the-scenes access to meet iconic animal residents.

The Rainforest Festival not only marks a significant milestone for Banyan Group but also reinforces its commitment to sustainable tourism and community engagement. The event runs daily from 10:00 to 18:00 and offers general admission tickets priced at S$10 on weekdays and S$15 on weekends. Children under four can enter for free with an accompanying adult.
