Sands China Hosts Exciting NBA Activities During China Games 2025

Sands China Ltd. recently concluded a vibrant week of basketball activities in Macao, coinciding with the NBA China Games 2025. The event featured a mix of on-court action, celebrity performances, and community engagement that attracted sports fans from around the globe. This initiative not only highlighted the NBA’s international appeal but also underscored Macao’s rising profile as a premier sports-entertainment destination.
High-Stakes Basketball Action
The NBA China Games 2025 took place over two thrilling nights on October 10 and October 12, 2025, at The Venetian Arena. The Brooklyn Nets faced off against the Phoenix Suns, showcasing some of the league’s brightest stars. Notable players included Cam Thomas, Michael Porter Jr., and Nolan Traoré for the Nets, while the Suns featured Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, and Grayson Allen.
Fans were treated to nail-biting games, with the Suns narrowly winning the first match 132-127 and the Nets claiming victory in the second game 111-109. The atmosphere was electric, further energized by pre-game performances from the Korean dance crew Team BEBE and halftime shows by multi-talented artist Henry Lau.
Engaging Fan Experiences
Complementing the basketball action, Sands China introduced Macao’s first NBA House, an interactive fan experience that ran from October 8-12, 2025. This engaging event brought together basketball, music, fashion, and technology, featuring appearances by NBA legends such as Tim Hardaway Sr., Stephon Marbury, and Shaquille O’Neal. Attendees participated in basketball clinics, viewing parties, and met their favorite players.
Social media opportunities were plentiful, with fans able to capture memorable moments alongside the Larry O’Brien Trophy and in themed installations. The event included a Retail District with 26 retailers offering collectible merchandise and a customisation service for NBA apparel.
On October 11, 2025, NBA Fan Day featured Shaquille O’Neal and live performances from popular entertainers, including hip-hop artist MC Jin and members of boy band MIRROR. The week-long festivities also showcased an exhibition of 40 statues created by G Bear, the Londoner’s No.1 Ambassador and Chief Experience Officer, adding a whimsical touch to the experience.
The opening of Macao’s first NBA Flagship Store on October 11, 2025, marked another significant highlight. Spanning over 900 square meters, the store offers a wide range of official NBA merchandise, including player jerseys, apparel, and unique products inspired by Macao’s culture. This store is the only one in the Greater Bay Area to provide customisation for jerseys and sneakers.
The week culminated in a fireside chat on October 12, 2025, featuring Patrick Dumont, President and Chief Operating Officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp., David Beckham, Sands Global Ambassador, and Joe Tsai, Co-founder and Chairman of Alibaba Group. They discussed the global reach of sports ownership and its impact on communities.
Sands China is committed to supporting Macao’s vision as a City of Sports and enhancing its reputation as a dynamic hub for tourism and sports events. The success of the NBA China Games 2025 reflects this dedication, promising more exciting events in the future.
