Pyramids Secure African Super Cup with Late Goal in Cairo
Pyramids FC claimed the **African Super Cup** title on Saturday night in Cairo, securing a 1-0 victory over Morocco’s **Renaissance Berkane**. The decisive moment came in the 75th minute when Congolese striker **Fiston Mayele** netted the game’s only goal, propelling Pyramids to victory.
This triumph marks a significant achievement for Pyramids, who were crowned **Champions League** winners for the first time last season. Their opponents, Renaissance Berkane, had previously won the **Confederation Cup**, Africa’s secondary club tournament. The match showcased intense competition between the two sides, but it was Pyramids that emerged victorious, much to the delight of their fans.
With this win, Pyramids FC has secured a spot in the **Intercontinental Cup**, set to take place in **Qatar** later this year. The club will compete in the semi-finals, with the potential to advance to the finals scheduled for **December 17**. If they succeed in their semi-final match, they will face off against European giants **Paris Saint-Germain**.
Pyramids’ victory in the African Super Cup is a testament to their growing stature in African football. The team, supported by a passionate fan base, has made significant strides in recent years, moving from a local club to a formidable presence on the continental stage. Their success in this tournament adds another chapter to their rapidly evolving history.
The match held in Cairo drew attention not only for the football on display but also for the vibrant atmosphere created by fans from both teams. As Pyramids FC celebrates this hard-earned victory, their focus will soon shift to the upcoming challenges in the Intercontinental Cup, where they aim to continue their upward trajectory in international football.
