Naomi Osaka Exits Evolve Sports Agency, Future Plans Unclear
Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, has announced her departure from Evolve, the sports agency she co-founded in 2022. The former world number one revealed her decision on December 19, leaving her future direction unspecified. Osaka, who previously broke ties with IMG to establish Evolve alongside her longtime agent, Stuart Duguid, emphasized her gratitude for the agency during her announcement.
Evolve quickly gained prominence in the sports world, attracting high-profile clients such as Nick Kyrgios and current women’s world number one Aryna Sabalenka. Both athletes are scheduled to compete in a highly publicized “Battle of the Sexes” exhibition match later this month, a contest that has drawn criticism for potentially undermining women’s tennis.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Osaka stated, “Hi everyone, writing this to say starting in the new year I’ll be parting ways with Evolve. It’s been a great run and I’m so grateful for all the memories shared.” The 28-year-old expressed an optimistic outlook regarding her departure, while keeping her future plans under wraps. “When I make my decision on where I’ll go next, you’ll hear it from me,” she added, thanking her supporters and expressing excitement for the year ahead.
Osaka’s Recent Tennis Journey
Osaka returned to the tennis circuit in 2024 after taking a maternity break, but it was not until 2025 that she regained her competitive edge. She achieved significant milestones this year, including winning her first title as a mother in May. Her performance continued to shine as she reached the final of the Canadian Open and advanced to the semifinals at the U.S. Open, a tournament she previously won in both 2018 and 2020.
Ending the year ranked number 16 in the world, Osaka’s journey reflects her resilience and determination to succeed in the sport. As she embarks on a new chapter following her exit from Evolve, the tennis community and her fans eagerly await her next move, which promises to be as dynamic as her career thus far.
