Italy’s national football team manager, Gennaro Gattuso, is gearing up for a challenging playoff match against Northern Ireland in March. This fixture is crucial as the teams vie for a spot in next year’s World Cup, set to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Gattuso acknowledges the physicality of the Northern Irish team, stating, “Northern Ireland is a physical team; they never give up.” He shared these thoughts with Sky Sports Italia following the playoff draw on Thursday.
