Frank Acknowledges Levy’s Legacy as Spurs Eye West Ham Clash
Tottenham Hotspur’s head coach, Thomas Frank, expressed admiration for the club’s former chairman, Daniel Levy, while maintaining a sharp focus on the upcoming match against West Ham United. Frank’s comments came following Levy’s unexpected departure from his role after a remarkable 25-year tenure, which has sparked speculation regarding the future ownership of the north London club. Despite these rumors, the majority shareholder, ENIC, has stated that Tottenham is not for sale, allowing Frank to emphasize a return to normalcy in preparation for the Premier League clash.
Frank praised Levy as a pivotal figure in Tottenham’s history, highlighting his contributions to the club’s infrastructure and overall success. “Daniel deserves massive praise. He must be one of the longest chairmen that has been in the Premier League ever,” he noted. The coach underscored the significance of Levy’s role in establishing the club’s state-of-the-art training facility and its modern stadium, stating, “Both those two we are at a top level so we can build from there to hopefully compete with the best clubs in the future.”
The challenge now lies with Frank, who succeeded Ange Postecoglou, to transform Tottenham into a formidable title contender. While Levy faced criticism from fans for failing to secure the signing of Eberechi Eze, the club made notable strides by acquiring Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig and securing a loan for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain just before the transfer deadline. Frank expressed satisfaction with the squad, attributing the club’s recent acquisitions to Levy and technical director Johan Lange.
“I would say I am really happy with the squad. I think the club has done a very good job,” Frank remarked, praising the commitment shown by Levy and Lange in enhancing the team. He added, “I think it is two big signings, Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons, two top players I am convinced will help us massively.”
After starting his tenure with two victories, Frank faced a setback with a narrow 1-0 loss to Bournemouth before the international break. The focus for Frank and his players has now shifted entirely to the London derby against West Ham. “I would say for me the main thing I can do to do my job well is to focus on now and tomorrow against West Ham, huge London derby. That’s my main thing,” he said.
Acknowledging the significance of the match for Tottenham supporters, Frank concluded, “We will go there and do everything we can to of course try to win the game.” With the stakes high for both clubs, fans will be eager to see if Tottenham can capitalize on their recent signings and the legacy left by Levy in their quest for success.
