Endrick Joins Lyon on Loan to Boost Game Time and Career
Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Endrick has officially joined Olympique Lyonnais on loan until the end of the current season. This decision comes after the 19-year-old faced limited playing time at Real Madrid under coach Xabi Alonso. Both clubs confirmed the move on December 23.
Endrick transferred to Real Madrid from Palmeiras in July 2024, signing a six-year contract shortly after turning 18. He made an impressive debut by scoring against Real Valladolid, despite coming off the bench with only four minutes left in the match. However, during his first season under coach Carlo Ancelotti, most of his 37 appearances were as a substitute, resulting in seven goals.
This season, Endrick’s situation has not improved, with only two brief substitute appearances and one start in the Copa del Rey. This lack of substantial game time has led to his decision to seek opportunities elsewhere, hoping to regain his form and confidence.
International Aspirations and Future Goals
Endrick has represented Brazil at the international level, scoring three goals in 14 caps. His goalscoring ability has made him a promising talent for the national team, now managed by Ancelotti. Unfortunately, he was not selected for Brazil’s recent friendly matches in October and November. The young forward aims to use his loan spell at Lyon to improve his performance and secure a place in the squad for the upcoming World Cup.
By playing in the French Ligue 1, Endrick hopes to gain valuable experience and showcase his skills in a competitive environment. The move is seen as a crucial step in his professional development, potentially paving the way for a successful future both at club and international levels.
As the season progresses, fans and analysts will closely monitor Endrick’s contributions to Lyon. His ability to adapt and excel in a new league will be vital not only for his career but also for his aspirations with the Brazilian national team.
