Dembele Fit for Champions League Showdown Against Bayern

Ousmane Dembele is set to participate in Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) crucial Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. The French striker, who played a pivotal role in PSG’s previous victory over Bayern in the Club World Cup quarter-finals, is confirmed fit by coach Luis Enrique. Dembele had experienced discomfort in his right thigh during a match against Lorient last week and played only 18 minutes in Saturday’s Ligue 1 game against Nice.
“We do not take risks with any players. But Ousmane Dembele is fit; he has been in every training session for the last two weeks,” Luis Enrique stated in a press conference on Monday. He added, “He is improving his physical fitness and he will certainly play tomorrow. I do not know for how many minutes, but he will play because he is ready to compete.”
The upcoming clash holds significant importance as both teams aim to maintain their perfect records in the Champions League. Bayern Munich has dominated since their loss to PSG, winning all 15 competitive matches, including a flawless start to their Bundesliga campaign with nine consecutive victories.
Both Bayern and PSG have secured wins in their first three Champions League matches, tying on goal difference. PSG has also gone unbeaten in their last eight competitive fixtures, boosting morale as they prepare to face the Bavarians at home.
Luis Enrique expressed his confidence in his team’s ability to extend their unbeaten streak, emphasizing the intensity expected in the match. “We know how difficult it will be. We are ready and motivated to win,” he remarked. Drawing parallels to their encounter in the United States last summer, he added, “I think there will be similar situations… with lots of intensity. In front of our supporters, with the atmosphere we created every game, we’re confident that we can improve our performance level to try to overcome their pressure.”
This high-stakes encounter promises to be a thrilling showcase of elite football, as both teams vie for supremacy on the European stage.
