UNISOC Launches Global “ChipFire” Program to Inspire Young Innovators
UNISOC has unveiled the “ChipFire” classroom, a global initiative aimed at sparking young people’s interest in technology and science. Launched on November 7, 2025, in Shanghai, this program invites participants to engage in hands-on learning experiences focused on semiconductor technology and 5G applications. Over 10,000 teachers and students have already joined, exploring the transformative power of innovation.
As a leader in the technology sector, UNISOC emphasizes a commitment to sustainable and responsible innovation. Guided by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, the company aims to promote low-carbon development and digital inclusion. By integrating technology into everyday life, UNISOC envisions a greener and fairer future, where innovation is accessible to all.
Technology for a Sustainable Future
In a world where intelligent systems enhance convenience, the rising energy consumption poses significant challenges. UNISOC asserts that technology should not only prioritize speed and performance but also respect the environment. Its ongoing advancements in chip technology have led to meaningful reductions in carbon emissions.
Over the past year, UNISOC’s chips have supported billions of shared bicycles, contributing to the reduction of more than 900,000 tons of carbon emissions. The company’s 5G chip has achieved a remarkable 40% reduction in core power consumption, eliminating approximately 816,000 tons of CO2 annually, well below industry averages. In the Internet of Things (IoT) sector, UNISOC’s high-efficiency chips have enabled partners to optimize power consumption, collectively cutting around 310,000 tons of carbon emissions each year across various industries.
Bridging Digital Divides
Despite rapid technological advancements, approximately three billion people worldwide still lack access to the digital landscape. UNISOC believes that true innovation should focus on inclusivity. Their technology aims to narrow the digital divide, ensuring that more individuals can benefit from digital advancements.
Devices powered by UNISOC now reach over 140 countries. Notably, one in every eight smartphones and one in every four cellular IoT devices are powered by UNISOC technology. The company has also developed senior-friendly smartphones and health-monitoring devices that assist tens of millions of elderly individuals in navigating the digital world.
Additionally, UNISOC’s public education initiative, the “ChipFire” classroom, allows over 10,000 young people annually to experience science and innovation through interactive experiments. The company’s smart Point of Sale (POS) terminals provide small businesses with efficient payment solutions, helping to realize entrepreneurial dreams.
Commitment to Trust and Responsibility
As the pace of technological innovation accelerates, trust becomes a critical factor. UNISOC emphasizes that responsible operations and low-carbon practices are essential for fostering public confidence in technology. The company integrates ESG principles into its corporate strategy and daily operations, ensuring transparency and accountability.
According to UNISOC, it achieved total greenhouse gas emissions of 14,876.8 tons CO2e, with an emission intensity of only 0.94 tons CO2e per million RMB in revenue—substantially lower than industry averages. The company also promotes sustainable office practices, such as smart offices and paperless workflows, to enhance efficiency and contribute to everyday sustainability.
UNISOC recognizes that social responsibility is not just a task but a long-term commitment. Looking ahead, the company aims to collaborate with global customers, partners, and society to advance low-carbon development, ensuring that every technological innovation is worthy of trust.
Through initiatives like the “ChipFire” classroom, UNISOC is working to make innovation accessible to everyone, everywhere, and to foster a future where technology brings people closer together.
