TECNO Unveils Winners of 2025 Shot On CAMON Photography Contest
TECNO has announced the winners of its 2025 “Shot On CAMON” Global Photography Contest, celebrating diverse creativity and authentic storytelling. Launched in partnership with Amateur Photographer magazine, this year’s competition attracted over 10,000 submissions from 56 countries, demonstrating the power of innovative technology to capture life’s moments.
The contest awarded a total prize pool of USD 37,000, recognizing ten outstanding creators. The top accolade, the title of TECNO Photography Master, comes with a grand prize of USD 10,000. Additional awards include Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes valued at USD 5,000, USD 3,000, and USD 1,000 respectively. Furthermore, ten participants received the “TECNO Friend” Prize, each winning a CAMON 40 Premier 5G smartphone.
A Platform for Emerging Talent
“This year’s Shot On CAMON contest shows clear growth from the first edition — not just in scale, but in confidence and individuality,” said Nigel Atherton, Editor of Amateur Photographer magazine. He noted the powerful everyday stories told by creators from emerging markets, highlighting the unique visual voices that emerged through the contest.
Laury Bai, Chief Marketing Officer of TECNO, emphasized the importance of perspective in photography. “Every photograph tells a unique story, revealing the beauty, rhythm, and connection in our daily lives. By providing creators with innovative technology, we hope to inspire more people to share their vision and snap those extraordinary moments that resonate globally.”
From May 1 to September 30, 2025, TECNO invited mobile photographers to submit their works across three categories: Snap Every Pulse, Snap All Fleeting Bonds, and Snap Any Motion. The entries showcased a vivid tapestry of life’s rhythms and emotions, each reflecting unique local perspectives.
Celebrating the Winners
The Grand Prize was awarded to Nigerian photographer @micheal_the_colorist for his uplifting image titled “High Spirits.” Captured on the CAMON 40 Pro, the photograph features a group of friends mid-air against a striking blue sky, symbolizing youth and freedom.
In the Snap Every Pulse category, the Gold Prize went to a poignant image of a young Nigerian girl running joyfully down a sunlit street. The Silver Prize showcased four dogs playfully perched on a low wall, while the Bronze Prize depicted the traditional grain processing method, emphasizing the enduring heartbeat of community labor.
The Snap All Fleeting Bonds category recognized the Gold Prize winner for a heartwarming shot of children playing in the mud, radiating warmth and friendship. The Silver Prize captured silhouettes of kids chasing each other at sunset on a Malaysian beach, while the Bronze Prize illustrated a boy caring for a goat, reflecting a deep bond of love and protection.
In the Snap Any Motion category, the Gold Prize was awarded to an exhilarating photograph of a sepak takraw player leaping at dusk, merging strength and grace. The Silver Prize captured a cyclist performing a stunt mid-air, while the Bronze Prize depicted a dancer in a flowing red dress, merging movement and artistry against a backdrop of city architecture.
As part of their recognition, winners will participate in an exclusive photography tour in London at the end of 2025. This immersive experience will allow them to exchange ideas and capture the vibrant essence of the city. Their work will be featured in global exhibitions, included in TECNO’s annual photo book, and displayed in the official online gallery, further inspiring creators to tell their own stories through photography.
Through initiatives like the Shot On CAMON contest, TECNO continues to empower emerging talent and showcase the beauty of diverse human experiences across the globe.
