TECNO Unveils Winners of 2025 Shot On CAMON Photography Contest
TECNO, a leading technology brand, has announced the winners of its 2025 “Shot On CAMON” Global Photography Contest. This initiative, launched in collaboration with Amateur Photographer magazine, aims to empower creators in emerging markets to share their unique perspectives and stories through photography. With over 10,000 submissions from 56 countries, the contest has established itself as a vibrant platform showcasing the beauty and rhythm of everyday life.
The contest awarded a total prize pool of USD 37,000, recognizing ten exceptional creators for their outstanding contributions. The Grand Prize of USD 10,000 was awarded to the TECNO Photography Master, followed by Gold, Silver, and Bronze Prizes of USD 5,000, USD 3,000, and USD 1,000, respectively. Additionally, ten participants were honored with the “TECNO Friend” Prize, each receiving a CAMON 40 Premier 5G smartphone for their active engagement in the contest.
A Platform for Emerging Talent
“This year’s Shot On CAMON contest shows clear growth from the first edition — not just in scale, but in confidence and individuality,” stated Nigel Atherton, Editor of Amateur Photographer magazine. He noted that many participants from emerging markets told powerful stories through their photography, showcasing a distinct visual voice. The initiative emphasizes the importance of facilitating creative expression through innovative technology.
Laury Bai, Chief Marketing Officer of TECNO, highlighted the significance of perspective in photography. “Every photograph tells a unique story, revealing the beauty, rhythm, and connection in our daily lives. By providing creators with innovative technology, we hope to inspire more people to share their vision and capture extraordinary moments that resonate globally.”
From May 1 to September 30, 2025, TECNO invited mobile photographers worldwide to submit their works in three categories: Snap Every Pulse, Snap All Fleeting Bonds, and Snap Any Motion. The incredible array of entries captured life’s vivid rhythms and emotions from diverse local viewpoints.
Celebrating Unique Perspectives
The Grand Prize, awarded to Nigerian photographer @micheal_the_colorist, recognized his vibrant work titled “High Spirits.” Captured on the CAMON 40 Pro, the image depicts a group of friends mid-air, their colorful clothing contrasting beautifully against a bright blue sky, symbolizing youth, color, and freedom.
In the Snap Every Pulse category, the Gold Prize went to a poignant image of a young Nigerian girl running down a sunlit street, her dress swirling like a fleeting melody. The Silver Prize recognized a playful depiction of four dogs on a wall, while the Bronze Prize captured the traditional cadence of grain processing, reflecting the heartbeat of community labor.
The Snap All Fleeting Bonds category celebrated moments of connection. The Gold Prize illustrated children joyfully playing in the mud, while the Silver Prize featured silhouetted kids chasing each other along a Malaysian beach at sunset. The Bronze Prize portrayed a boy caring for a young goat, emphasizing quiet, protective love.
In the Snap Any Motion category, the Gold Prize was awarded to an impressive image of a sepak takraw player leaping at dusk. The Silver Prize showcased a cyclist mid-air performing a daring stunt, and the Bronze Prize featured a dancer spinning in a red dress against the backdrop of city architecture, blending movement and energy.
As part of their reward, winners will participate in an exclusive London Photography Tour at the end of 2025. This immersive experience will allow them to exchange ideas and capture the vibrant atmosphere of one of the world’s most iconic cities. Additionally, their works will be featured in global exhibitions, TECNO’s annual photo book, and the official online gallery, inspiring future creators to share their own narratives through photography.
