TECNO Crowns Winners of 2025 Shot On CAMON Global Contest
TECNO has revealed the winners of its 2025 “Shot On CAMON” Global Photography Contest, which aims to empower creators from emerging markets. The announcement, made on October 24, 2025, showcases the contest’s growth in its second year, with over 10,000 submissions from 56 countries. The competition highlights the power of photography to convey authentic human stories, celebrating creativity and connection through innovative technology.
The contest, organized in partnership with Amateur Photographer magazine, featured a total prize pool of USD 37,000, awarded to ten outstanding creators. The top honor, the title of TECNO Photography Master, came with a Grand Prize of USD 10,000. Other prizes included Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards of USD 5,000, USD 3,000, and USD 1,000 respectively. Additionally, ten participants received the “TECNO Friend” Prize, each winning a CAMON 40 Premier 5G smartphone.
A Celebration of Everyday Creativity
“This year’s Shot On CAMON contest shows clear growth from the first edition — not just in scale, but in confidence and individuality,” said Nigel Atherton, Editor of Amateur Photographer magazine. He emphasized that many creators from emerging markets told powerful everyday stories with a distinct visual voice. Laury Bai, Chief Marketing Officer at TECNO, added, “Through ‘Shot On CAMON,’ TECNO celebrates not just technical skill, but the power of perspective.”
From May 1 to September 30, 2025, TECNO invited mobile photographers to submit entries across three categories: Snap Every Pulse, Snap All Fleeting Bonds, and Snap Any Motion. The submissions captured life’s vivid rhythms and emotions, showcasing unique local perspectives.
Highlights of the Winning Works
The Grand Prize, awarded to Nigerian photographer @micheal_the_colorist, recognized his work “High Spirits.” Captured on the CAMON 40 Pro, the photograph features a group of friends mid-air, their colorful attire against a bright blue sky, symbolizing youth and freedom.
In the Snap Every Pulse category, the Gold Prize went to an evocative image of a young girl running down a sunlit street, her dress swirling like a fleeting melody. The Silver Prize depicted four dogs playfully perched on a wall, while the Bronze Prize showcased traditional grain processing, reflecting the community’s enduring spirit.
In the Snap All Fleeting Bonds category, the Gold Prize illustrated children joyfully playing in the mud, radiating warmth and friendship. The Silver Prize captured kids chasing each other along a Malaysian beach at sunset, while the Bronze Prize portrayed a boy caring for a goat, expressing deep, protective love.
In the Snap Any Motion category, a dramatic shot of a sepak takraw player earned the Gold Prize, highlighting strength and elegance. The Silver Prize showed a cyclist performing a daring stunt, and the Bronze Prize featured a dancer in a red dress, embodying the intersection of motion and art.
As part of their recognition, winners will participate in an exclusive London Photography Tour at the end of 2025. This immersive experience will allow them to exchange ideas and capture the vibrant essence of one of the world’s most iconic cities. Their works will also be displayed in global exhibitions, TECNO’s annual photo book, and across the company’s online gallery, inspiring further creativity and storytelling through photography.
