Education in Motion Launches AI Initiative to Enhance Learning
Education in Motion (EiM) has unveiled a new initiative aimed at integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into education, partnering with Dr. Rose Luckin, a leading expert from University College London. Announced on January 28, 2026, this initiative seeks to create a structured AI framework for schools worldwide, enhancing teaching and learning experiences in an increasingly digital world.
The programme, spearheaded by EiM’s Chief Innovation Officer, Crispian Farrow, will leverage Dr. Luckin’s consultancy, Educate Ventures Research, to explore practical applications of AI in education. The focus will be on developing school-based research pilots that assess the impact of AI on educational practices. This approach aims not only to implement new technologies but also to maintain academic rigour and promote human-centred learning.
Comprehensive Framework for AI in Education
EiM’s initiative will deliver a scalable AI framework applicable to all EiM schools, including the prestigious Dulwich College International network. The programme will also produce a research-based AI playbook for teachers, tailored curricula to enhance AI literacy, and strategies to cultivate critical thinking among students.
Lesley Meyer, EiM’s Chief Education Officer, emphasized the importance of integrating AI responsibly. “Our aim is not to chase tools, but to strengthen the human heart of education—critical thinking, creativity, empathy—while holding firm to academic standards,” Meyer stated. This initiative is designed to ensure AI serves teaching, integrity, and student wellbeing.
Farrow elaborated on the operational goals, stating, “By combining school-based research pilots, rigorous evaluation of impact, and an evidence-based AI playbook for teachers, we’ll further integrate AI with our ecosystem in ways that are secure, compliant, and demonstrably valuable.”
Phased Implementation and Collaborative Oversight
The first phase of this initiative includes developing teacher competencies in digital education, establishing an AI critical thinking framework across various age groups, and implementing data evaluation protocols. Monthly consultation clinics will also be offered to aid in the transition to these new methodologies.
Dr. Luckin, who is also a member of the EiM Education Advisory Board, praised the initiative’s ethical focus. “Effective AI in education must be ethical, evidence-informed, and focused on learning,” she noted. Dr. Madiha Khan, Director of Research & Consultancy at Educate Ventures Research, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the framework’s aim to test assumptions and measure impact rigorously.
EiM’s commitment to ethical practices and innovation positions it as a leader in the education sector. Meyer stated, “We are assembling a range of world-leading assets to help us shape the future of learning.” This initiative reflects EiM’s vision to prepare young people for success in an AI-driven world, combining bold innovation with academic integrity and purpose.
Founded over two decades ago, Education in Motion has expanded its global footprint, empowering over 11,500 students across 15 schools. The organization is known for blending innovation with tradition, offering a variety of educational programs that support holistic learning and outstanding academic results.
