Dubai is on track to become one of the world’s top three tourist destinations by the end of 2025, according to new forecasts from ForwardKeys, a research firm managed by Amadeus. The analysis, which examines pre-booking data, indicates that international tourist arrivals in Dubai have surged by 6% compared to the same period last year, reinforcing the city’s position as a global hub for tourism, business, and leisure.

The report highlights that in the last three months of 2025, Dubai is expected to account for approximately 2.2% of international tourist arrivals worldwide. This growth underscores the city’s increasing attraction to travelers from various regions. Notably, India and the UK remain the largest source markets for visitors to Dubai, while China has shown a remarkable 34% year-on-year increase in bookings, reclaiming its place among the top ten countries sending tourists to the city. Germany also recorded a significant 9% increase, highlighting Dubai’s expanding appeal in both European and Asian markets.

Winter Season Boosts Tourism Growth

The upcoming winter season, traditionally the busiest period for tourism in Dubai, is expected to contribute significantly to this growth. According to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the emirate welcomed 11.17 million foreign tourists in the first seven months of 2025, an increase from 10.62 million during the same period in 2024, marking an annual increase of 5%.

Experts attribute Dubai’s steady growth to its resilience and charm, as well as its strategic positioning as a leading destination that integrates innovation, culture, and outstanding hospitality. The city’s advanced infrastructure, diverse entertainment options, and world-class events further enhance its reputation as a premier global tourist destination.

Future Developments to Enhance Tourist Experience

Looking ahead, upcoming projects such as the expansion of Expo City Dubai and the development of new cultural districts are poised to attract even more visitors. These initiatives aim to provide a broader range of experiences that extend beyond Dubai’s iconic skyline, promising to enhance the overall tourist experience.

As Dubai continues to evolve, its commitment to innovation and excellence in hospitality remains a cornerstone of its strategy to solidify its standing on the global tourism stage. The city’s ongoing efforts to appeal to a diverse range of travelers ensure that it will remain a top destination for years to come.
