Chinese Vice Premier Pushes for Enhanced Industrial Innovation
Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing has called for accelerated efforts in industrial innovation, emphasizing the importance of rigorous quality supervision across various products and services. His remarks came during a research trip to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from January 4 to 6, 2024.
During his visit, Zhang underscored the need for a deeper integration of technological advancements with industrial development. He highlighted the necessity to cultivate new productive forces tailored to local conditions, which he believes will significantly contribute to both high-quality development and enhanced living standards.
While in the cities of Hohhot and Baotou, Zhang engaged with local enterprises and examined ongoing research in new power systems and biotechnology. He stressed the significance of establishing a seamless connection between the innovation chain and the industrial chain, ensuring that breakthroughs in innovation are effectively translated into practical applications within the industry.
Zhang also called for the effective implementation of policies related to large-scale equipment renewal and major technological upgrades in manufacturing sectors. He pointed out that pursuing intelligent, environmentally friendly, and integrated development should serve as a guiding direction for future progress in industrial innovation.
