Tarun Art Gallery Launches ‘Linear Conversations’ Exhibition in New Delhi
The Tarun Art Gallery has unveiled a new group exhibition titled “Linear Conversations: Between Line and Form,” showcasing a rich tapestry of contemporary Indian art. The exhibition, which opened on January 5, 2026, features a diverse array of works from prominent artists and is on display until January 15, 2026, at the gallery located in M-7, M Block Market, G.K. II, New Delhi.
Exploring Artistic Dialogues
This exhibition delves into the relationship between line and form, examining how these elements serve as both visual components and conceptual tools. Artists in the exhibition utilize structure, abstraction, and rhythm to communicate personal and collective narratives. The works on display include pieces from artists such as Anup Kumar Chand, Bikash Poddar, Tapan Dash, Goldminson Aimol, Harshh Kumar, and Ishu, each offering unique interpretations of linearity.
While each piece is rooted in the individual practices of the artists, they collectively foster a visual conversation that explores themes of movement, space, and form. This shared exploration invites viewers to reflect on the nuances of contemporary art.
In a statement about the exhibition, Tarun Sharma, Director of the Tarun Art Gallery, emphasized the significance of line as more than just a formal element. He noted, “‘Linear Conversations’ emerges from a simple yet profound idea, that the line is not merely a formal element, but the beginning of thought, emotion, and expression.” Sharma highlighted the varied approaches of the artists, shaped by their experiences and materials, which create a dialogue that transcends individual styles and invites deeper inquiry.
Inaugural Event and Gallery Background
The exhibition was previewed on December 18, 2025, in an event attended by notable figures such as Prayag Shukla, a respected poet and art critic, and Vinod Bhardwaj, a renowned art and film critic. Their presence added significant depth to the discussions surrounding the exhibition, enhancing the artistic discourse.
