Record Participation in Victory Run Celebrating Azerbaijani Army
The annual Victory Run took place in Baku on November 2, 2023, celebrating the achievements of the Azerbaijani Army. This year’s event, held under the slogan “Forward with Pride,” attracted a record number of participants, reflecting the growing popularity of the race since its inception in 2021.
Farid Gayibov, the Minister of Youth and Sports, spoke to journalists after the race and highlighted the increasing engagement in the event. “This year, we saw a record number of runners take part,” Gayibov stated, noting the positive impact of various mass sports events organized throughout the year. He expressed gratitude to all those involved in the successful organization of the run.
The Victory Run has evolved into a symbol of national unity and pride, resonating deeply with the spirit of Azerbaijan’s recent military victories. Over the years, it has attracted participants from various backgrounds, fostering a sense of community and shared achievement.
Gayibov mentioned the establishment of numerous running clubs as a direct outcome of the event’s success, indicating a broader trend toward increased physical activity within the country. He shared his personal commitment to participate in as many races as possible, further encouraging public involvement in sports.
