International Handball Tournament Launches in Azerbaijan to Honor Aliyev

The opening ceremony of the international handball tournament dedicated to the memory of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev took place today in Baku. The event, organized by the Azerbaijan Handball Federation (AHF), marks a significant occasion in the country’s sporting calendar.

During the ceremony, Orkhan Abbasov, Vice President of the AHF, conveyed greetings from the Federation’s President, Saleh Mammadov. Abbasov also noted that Azerbaijan’s strong presence in international sports is a testament to the ongoing support from current President Ilham Aliyev. He expressed gratitude to the participating teams from friendly nations and wished them success in the tournament.

The ceremony included the playing of the national anthem, followed by a video presentation highlighting the life and achievements of Heydar Aliyev.
