DeRucci Launches AI Mattress Series to Transform Sleep in Singapore
In Singapore, DeRucci has launched a new series of AI mattresses, including the innovative T11+ and T11Z+ models, aimed at enhancing sleep quality in a fast-paced urban environment. Founded in 2004, DeRucci has evolved from a bedding manufacturer to a global leader in sleep wellness, boasting over 5,400 stores across ten countries, including Australia, Canada, and the United States. The company’s mission is to integrate advanced technology with ergonomic design to help individuals achieve restorative rest.
DeRucci’s commitment to sleep innovation is evident through its collaborations with over ten prestigious institutions, including the MIT Media Lab and Harvard Medical School. These partnerships have been instrumental in developing intelligent sleep solutions that adapt to users’ needs in real time. “DeRucci has developed multiple generations of smart AI mattresses, and with each iteration, our technology has evolved and become more advanced,” stated Patrick Peng, product director at DeRucci.
Revolutionizing Sleep with Smart Technology
The recently unveiled AI mattress series has garnered recognition for its breakthrough features at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. Unlike traditional smart mattresses that depend on external controls, DeRucci’s innovative models incorporate technology directly within the mattress. At the core of this is the patented AI Tidal Algorithm 2.0, which processes real-time data to offer personalized support throughout the night.
The T11+ model is crafted with breathable materials and is equipped with 23 intelligent sensors that monitor five critical areas: shoulders, back, waist, hips, and legs. These sensors collaborate with 14 flexible adjustment units to provide tailor-made support based on individual sleeping positions, body shapes, and movements. Notably, the dual-zone design minimizes motion transfer, allowing partners to adjust their sides independently without disturbing each other.
According to Wenze Chen, head of research and development at DeRucci Group, the T11+ uses clinically validated cardiopulmonary coupling technology to monitor vital signs during sleep. This approach, distinct from conventional methods, relies on ballistocardiography to track heart rates and breathing without direct contact. The system operates with remarkable efficiency, detecting movement with 97 percent accuracy in just 20 milliseconds. Adjustments are made in real time, maintaining users’ comfort without interruption.
Additionally, the T11+ integrates with the DeRucci AI app, which generates personalized sleep reports each morning. These reports include insights on sleep stages, irregularities, and an overall quality score. In a trial verified by the Chinese Sleep Research Society, participants using the mattress reported a significant reduction in sleep latency by 37.3 percent and a 21.5 percent decrease in tossing and turning.
Understanding the Importance of Quality Sleep
Experts recommend that adults aim for seven to nine hours of sleep per night. The quality of that sleep is just as crucial as the duration, as it encompasses several stages—three non-REM and one REM—that are essential for physical and mental recovery. Deep sleep and REM sleep account for approximately 25 percent of total sleep time, contributing to memory consolidation, immune function, and hormonal regulation.
Chronic sleep deprivation poses a significant health risk, correlating with conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, and Type 2 diabetes, as well as increased anxiety and depression. Factors such as aging, stress, and environmental disturbances can disrupt deep sleep, making advanced solutions like DeRucci’s AI mattresses increasingly relevant.
The AI system learns from users over time, adapting to their unique needs and improving support. Coupled with the personalized feedback from the app, users can gain valuable insights into their sleep patterns, empowering them to enhance both their rest and overall well-being.
DeRucci’s commitment to transforming sleep health has not gone unnoticed. The company has received multiple international awards for its innovative technology, which aims to create a comprehensive sleep ecosystem. “As sleep takes on a larger role in the wellness conversation, we aim to support it with technology that understands and responds to individual sleep needs,” said Yeo Khee Wee, senior commercial manager for DeRucci Singapore.
With the launch of its AI mattress series, DeRucci is set to redefine how individuals experience sleep, offering solutions that blend cutting-edge technology with the fundamental need for restorative rest.
