Sky Labs Unveils CART BP Pro: A Breakthrough in Blood Pressure Monitoring

At the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2025 in Madrid, held from August 29 to September 1, Sky Labs introduced the CART BP pro, a revolutionary cuffless blood pressure monitor that maintains accuracy across different arm positions. This innovative device has met the rigorous validation requirements established by the European Society of Hypertension (ESH), demonstrating reliable performance even when the arm is positioned below heart level.
Innovative Validation Results
During a session on August 29, Professor Jihoon Kim from Samsung Medical Center presented findings on the device, emphasizing its capability to provide accurate readings irrespective of arm positioning. The session was chaired by Professor Seok Min Kang, President of the Korean Society of Cardiology, and Professor Eugene Yang from the American College of Cardiology.
According to Professor Kim, traditional cuff-based devices require the arm to be at heart level for accurate readings. In contrast, the CART BP pro successfully passed ESH’s accuracy criteria across various arm positions. He noted, “CART BP pro maintained accuracy regardless of arm position, representing a significant step forward for 24/7 cuffless blood pressure monitoring.” The study confirmed no significant differences between readings taken at heart level and those at lower positions, aligning with standard auscultatory measurements. This advancement minimizes the device’s sensitivity to hydrostatic pressure, ensuring dependable results.
Enhanced 24-Hour Monitoring
On August 30, Professor Hae-Young Lee from Seoul National University Hospital highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring in his presentation titled “24-Hour Accuracy of a Ring-Type Cuffless Blood Pressure Monitor Based on the ESH 2023 Recommendations.” Co-chaired by Professor George Stergiou, President of the International Society of Hypertension, and Professor Gregory Lip of the University of Liverpool, the session emphasized the device’s ability to track blood pressure variations throughout the day.
Professor Lee stated that the CART BP pro effectively captured variations in blood pressure between awake and asleep periods, which is crucial for identifying patient risk profiles. While ambulatory blood pressure monitoring remains the clinical gold standard, it often faces challenges such as patient discomfort and infrequent readings. The CART BP pro offers a more comfortable alternative, facilitating frequent measurements over a full 24-hour cycle.
Addressing Nocturnal Blood Pressure and Sleep Apnea
In a final session, Professor Woo-Seok Ha from Severance Hospital presented insights on nocturnal blood pressure monitoring in relation to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Chaired by Professor Gianfranco Parati from the University of Milano-Bicocca and Professor Alta Schutte of the University of New South Wales, this segment delved into how nocturnal blood pressure variability can differ based on the type and duration of OSA events.
Professor Ha indicated that the CART BP pro might enable nocturnal monitoring without disrupting sleep, which could serve as a valuable tool for assessing OSA risk and long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
Widespread Adoption and Future Plans
Since its launch in September 2024, the CART BP pro has been integrated into over 1,600 hospitals and clinics across South Korea. Sky Labs plans to release a next-generation consumer model in late September 2025, which will be available over the counter and supported by a dedicated mobile application. This initiative aims to broaden access to convenient and reliable blood pressure monitoring solutions.
Sky Labs, founded in September 2015, has established itself as a leader in healthcare technology with its innovative devices designed for disease monitoring. The company has also signed an exclusive distribution agreement for the CART BP with Daewoong Pharmaceutical to facilitate nationwide sales to healthcare providers and general consumers.
