Sky Labs Secures Investment from OMRON Ventures for Global Expansion
Sky Labs has announced a significant investment partnership with OMRON Ventures, the venture capital arm of the OMRON Corporation, aimed at enhancing its global business expansion. This collaboration, disclosed on November 4, 2025, marks a strategic shift beyond mere financial support, focusing on a robust partnership to combat chronic diseases through innovative health technology.
The agreement includes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd., a leader in the blood pressure monitoring market. This partnership aims to solidify their joint efforts in advancing health technology, leveraging Sky Labs’ flagship product, the CART BP, which has been recognized for its potential in chronic disease prevention.
Sky Labs first introduced CART BP, a breakthrough cuffless blood pressure monitoring device, which has garnered attention for its ability to continuously track blood pressure throughout the day and night. This innovation allows users to monitor changes in their blood pressure in real-time, moving beyond traditional clinical settings.
OMRON Healthcare, headquartered in Muko, Kyoto, has established itself as a dominant force in the medical device industry, providing solutions to over 130 countries. The company reported cumulative sales of over 400 million blood pressure monitors globally by 2025, highlighting its significant impact on cardiovascular health management.
Jack Byunghwan Lee, CEO of Sky Labs, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “Our strategic partnership is an achievement in which Sky Labs’ technology has been recognized for both clinical effectiveness and business feasibility in global standards.” He expressed confidence that together with OMRON Healthcare, they would drive innovation in chronic disease management on a global scale.
Sky Labs, founded in September 2015, has rapidly positioned itself as a leading healthcare startup. It is recognized for developing the CART (Cardio Tracker), a medical device utilizing optical sensors to monitor heart health. Following this success, the company launched CART BP, which provides continuous blood pressure monitoring and valuable data for hypertension management.
In addition to its partnership with OMRON, Sky Labs has secured an exclusive distribution agreement for CART BP with Daewoong Pharmaceutical in South Korea. This agreement sets the stage for nationwide sales to hospitals, clinics, and consumers, further expanding the reach of their innovative product.
As the healthcare landscape increasingly prioritizes chronic disease prevention and management, collaborations like the one between Sky Labs and OMRON Healthcare are crucial. By combining innovative technology with established market presence, both companies aim to enhance patient outcomes and improve quality of life for individuals managing hypertension and related cardiovascular conditions.
