Panpuri Launches First Boutique in Singapore at Takashimaya
Thai luxury wellness brand Panpuri has officially opened its first store in Singapore on November 12, 2023, located at the prestigious Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Known for its high-quality spa and wellness products, Panpuri aims to provide customers with an immersive experience reminiscent of a “sensorial sanctuary.” The boutique is designed to reflect the brand’s ethos while incorporating local elements, such as floral installations featuring Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim.
Vorravit Siripark, the CEO and founder of Panpuri, emphasizes that the brand’s stores are not merely retail spaces but experiences meant to evoke feelings of wellness and therapeutic calm. “We want people to come in and feel a sense of wellness and therapeutic calm,” Siripark stated. Each Panpuri store is tailored to its location, ensuring that no two outlets are identical. Siripark, who has personal ties to Singapore, aims to capture the essence of the city in this new boutique.
Panpuri’s journey began in 2003 when Siripark identified a gap in the luxury wellness market in Thailand. After completing his Master’s thesis in luxury goods management, he recognized the potential for Thai wellness products to gain international appreciation. “We have the heritage, the craftsmanship, a unique knowledge of and approach to wellness, but no one had really translated and modernised it for global consumers,” he explained.
### A Unique Approach to Wellness
Panpuri sets itself apart through its commitment to quality and natural ingredients. The brand was among the pioneers in Thailand to use certified organic materials, focusing on clean formulations that align with modern wellness trends. Siripark recalls the challenges of sourcing clean ingredients during the early days of the brand. “It’s not easy to source for clean materials – we were among the first to use certified organic ingredients in our products in a time when no one was talking organic yet,” he noted.
The brand offers a variety of fragrances and products inspired by Eastern traditions. Siripark shared a personal connection to one of their most popular scents, which is a tribute to his childhood memories of picking jasmine flowers with his grandmother. This nostalgic scent has become a signature product, alongside others like the bergamot and mint-infused Andaman Sails.
### Tailoring Products for Local Preferences
Given Singapore’s warm climate, Siripark recognizes that local preferences align closely with those of Thai customers. He recommends lighter fragrances for the Singaporean market, suggesting the Andaman Sails as an ideal choice for daytime wear. Additionally, the Antioxidant Milk Bath & Body Oil has gained popularity for its lightweight formulation that absorbs easily into the skin.
Siripark’s personal favorite is the Face Oil, which he credits for maintaining his youthful appearance at the age of 50. He humorously remarked on the difficulty of choosing a favorite fragrance, comparing it to selecting a favorite child.
### Embracing Wellness in Daily Life
Fragrance plays a significant role in Siripark’s wellness routine. He begins each day by applying a scent and practicing breathing exercises taught to him by his father during childhood commutes through Bangkok’s traffic. This ritual helps him stay grounded and mentally prepared for the day ahead.
With an increasing global interest in wellness, Panpuri is poised for expansion. Following an investment from the Kos Group, the brand is looking to broaden its reach internationally. “I don’t see wellness as a trend, but more of a permanent awareness that people are gaining,” Siripark remarked, highlighting the growing connection between mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
The Panpuri Sensorial Boutique at Takashimaya Shopping Centre is open daily from 10:00 to 21:30, marking a significant milestone for the brand as it continues to cater to the wellness needs of consumers in Singapore and beyond.
