Three women, each a survivor of their own cancer battles, are set to walk the runway at the annual **Fashion For Cancer** charity event on **September 13, 2025**, at **The Westin Singapore**. These brave participants, including **Chong Hui Min**, **Faith Lim**, and **Chua Gek San**, aim to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and patient support, with proceeds from ticket sales priced at **S $210.66** each.

All three women arrived for their interview without makeup, a testament to their authenticity. They are not professional models, but rather individuals whose lives have been profoundly impacted by cancer. **Chong**, aged 26, lives with a **34cm metal implant** in her left leg following a diagnosis of **osteosarcoma**, a rare bone cancer, when she was just 16. **Faith Lim**, 38, is a mother-of-two who underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with **Stage 2 breast cancer**, while **Chua Gek San**, 49, a mother-of-three, faced **leukaemia** that resulted in significant physical changes.

Personal Journeys of Resilience

Each survivor’s journey highlights the personal challenges they faced as they battled their illnesses. **Chong** recalls the moment her life changed. She was a typical teenager, active in school, when she began experiencing severe pain in her left knee. After multiple consultations, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, requiring extensive treatment that included chemotherapy and surgery to insert a large prosthetic implant. The physical scars from her treatment became part of her identity, which she now embraces as part of her life story.

**Faith Lim** faced a different set of challenges as she navigated her cancer diagnosis while pregnant. After discovering lumps in her breast, she underwent chemotherapy during her second trimester and had to deliver her baby prematurely to begin cancer treatment. Despite the emotional turmoil, she expressed her desire to reclaim her body and confidence post-treatment.

**Chua Gek San**, once a career-oriented mother, found her life upended by an unexpected diagnosis of **Acute Myeloid Leukaemia**. Following a severe reaction to medication, she required an emergency operation that changed her facial structure and necessitated a **bone marrow transplant**. Throughout her recovery, she grappled with her self-image and the impact of her illness on her life and family.

Embracing New Beginnings

Now in remission, these women are not only reclaiming their lives but also using their experiences to inspire others. **Chong** completed her degree, got married, and started working as a research assistant. **Lim** balances her role as a financial advisor while raising her daughters. **Chua** has returned to work and is actively volunteering to support various charitable causes.

As they prepare for the runway, the women reflect on how their cancer journeys have reshaped their perspectives on life. **Chong** sees her scars as a narrative of resilience, having adorned her leg with tattoos to symbolize her journey. **Lim** emphasizes the importance of inner confidence, stating that despite societal standards of beauty, she feels beautiful in her own right. For **Chua**, participating in **Fashion For Cancer** represents a transformative step out of her comfort zone.

“I’m walking at **Fashion For Cancer** for my story and for those going through this journey,” said **Lim**. “We can show up scared, we can show up uncertain, but we show up anyway. One small brave step is actually good enough.”

The event, showcasing **seven men and 18 women** representing various cancer types, aims to foster community support and raise funds for continued cancer research and assistance for patients. Each participant’s story contributes to a collective message of strength and resilience, encouraging others to face their challenges with courage.

With the event on the horizon, anticipation builds for an evening dedicated to honoring survivors and fostering hope. Tickets for **Fashion For Cancer 2025** can be purchased online, providing attendees with not just a fashion show but an opportunity to support a vital cause.
