Twice Dazzles Singapore with Captivating This Is For Concert

K-pop sensation Twice delivered a captivating performance during their “This Is For” concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 14, 2023. The group showcased their exceptional talent over a thrilling two-and-a-half-hour show, leaving fans mesmerized. Despite notable changes from their previous tour, including the absence of sub-unit songs, the concert stood out as one of the most electrifying live shows in Singapore this year.
All nine members of Twice—Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu—demonstrated their individual strengths throughout the evening. Nayeon and Jihyo tackled the vocally demanding track “Mars” with remarkable ease, while Dahyun engaged the audience with her playful attempt at Singlish. The group’s choreography, particularly from Momo and Mina, elicited enthusiastic screams from fans, highlighting their exceptional dance skills.
A major highlight of the concert was the solo performances, which marked a departure from the previous “Ready To Be” tour. Each member presented an original track from different genres, showcasing their artistic growth. Jeongyeon’s country-inspired “Fix A Drink” represented a significant shift from Twice’s usual sound, yet she delivered it with the confidence reminiscent of a young Beyoncé. Meanwhile, Chaeyoung’s “Shoot (Firecracker)” offered a playful disco-pop vibe that emphasized her individuality.
Precision and Visual Splendor
Twice’s signature synergy was on full display, particularly during technically challenging songs such as “Fancy,” “I Can’t Stop Me,” and “Set Me Free.” The group’s performance was enhanced by a unique 360-degree stage design, ensuring that every seat in the venue offered a fantastic view. Having experienced the concert from various angles, it became evident that the circular stage setup provided fans with a new perspective with each performance.
Executing choreography on a circular stage required the group to adapt their years of training, but they managed to transition seamlessly between songs. The visual elements of the concert were equally impressive, with LED screens enveloping the stage and creating an immersive environment. The performance of “One Spark” stood out as a highlight, as the screens erupted in a dazzling display of fireworks that illuminated the venue.
As the concert drew to a close, it was clear that Twice’s “This Is For” performance was more than just another stop on their tour. It was a powerful statement about their commitment to their craft as they approach their tenth anniversary. The members demonstrated unmatched artistry, discipline, and a deep connection with their fans, solidifying their status at the forefront of the K-pop scene.
With the energy and excitement generated during the concert, it is evident that Twice is not planning to step down from their position as one of the greatest girl K-pop groups of all time. As they continue to evolve as artists, their performances remain a testament to their enduring popularity and talent.
