Taiwanese Fans Turn to Temple Prayers for Twice Concert Tickets
Fans of the K-pop girl group Twice in Taiwan are taking extraordinary measures to secure tickets for the band’s upcoming concert. As excitement builds for this highly anticipated event, many fans, known as Onces, have turned to spirituality, flocking to the renowned Longshan Temple to pray for good fortune in obtaining tickets.
The concert, scheduled for November 22, 2023, at the Kaohsiung National Stadium, marks a significant milestone in the group’s history. It will be the first time that Taiwanese member Tzuyu performs in her home city during her decade-long career. The concert is part of Twice’s ongoing This Is For world tour, which has generated immense interest among fans globally.
According to TVBS News, Onces have been seen actively engaging in rituals at Longshan Temple, offering prayers and tributes in hopes of securing coveted concert tickets. Many fans brought photocards of the band members as offerings, while some included the concert’s seating map as part of their requests for specific seats.
Among the devoted fans was Instagram user @arielfish19, who shared videos on social media showcasing her prayers at the temple, inquiring of the deities whether she would be successful in obtaining her desired tickets. This unique approach highlights the lengths to which fans are willing to go to connect with their idols.
The presale for the concert took place on August 26 and 27, with general ticket sales commencing on August 28. The demand was staggering, as tickets made available during the Live Nation presale sold out in just three minutes, underscoring the concert’s popularity.
Twice is also set to perform in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 11 and 12, 2023. Like previous performances, the Singapore concerts will feature a 360-degree stage design, ensuring that all fans have a good view of the nine members, regardless of their seating. Tickets for the Singapore shows have already sold out, reflecting the group’s widespread appeal.
The fervor and dedication shown by Twice’s fans in Taiwan not only exemplify their passion for the group but also illustrate the significant cultural phenomenon that K-pop has become across the globe. As fans continue to seek divine intervention, the anticipation for the concert only grows, making it a pivotal event for both the group and their loyal followers.
