SS Rajamouli Praises Ashish Chanchlani’s New Series “Ekaki”
Acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli has publicly praised content creator Ashish Chanchlani for his recently released series, “Ekaki,” calling it “promising.” The filmmaker, known for blockbusters like “RRR” and “Baahubali,” expressed his admiration for the series during a post on social media, highlighting its unique transition from horror to science fiction.
In his post, Rajamouli reminisced about meeting Chanchlani at the “Varanasi” event in Hyderabad. He remarked, “Met Ashish during the Varanasi event and now I am happy to see him with his own fully written, produced, and self-made series. #Ekaki looks promising… Especially the genre shift from horror to sci-fi. A clever twist. All the best @ashchanchlani!!”
Chanchlani, who has taken on multiple roles in “Ekaki” as writer, director, producer, and actor, responded to Rajamouli’s commendation by expressing his gratitude. He described the filmmaker’s reaction as his “biggest achievement,” saying, “Rajamouli sir, thank you for your guidance and your kind words. It’s truly a dream come true for someone like me to hear this from you. Your reaction to it was my biggest achievement. Love you sir.”
Chanchlani Reflects on the Journey
Earlier, Chanchlani reflected on the challenging yet fulfilling process of bringing “Ekaki” to life. He explained how the project was unlike anything he had previously undertaken. “This was a completely different experience from anything I’ve done before. When we started, we honestly didn’t know a lot of things; I didn’t even realize what I was getting into,” he noted.
The production journey spanned approximately seven months of pre-production, followed by 80 days of shooting, and an additional seven months dedicated to post-production. Chanchlani admitted the experience was tough but ultimately rewarding. “But I genuinely loved every part of it. I’m not sure if I’d do something like this again, but I definitely feel vindicated after putting in so much effort. I just hope the audience enjoys watching it as much as we enjoyed making it,” he added.
Synopsis of “Ekaki”
“Ekaki” narrates the story of a group of friends who embark on a weekend getaway to the enigmatic Ekaki Villa. What begins as a fun retreat soon turns unsettling as they experience strange and haunting occurrences. The series aims to blend horror elements with a sci-fi twist, providing viewers with an engaging and thrilling narrative.
As audiences delve into this unique series, Chanchlani’s multi-faceted contribution is sure to resonate with fans and critics alike. With the backing of a revered filmmaker like SS Rajamouli, “Ekaki” is positioned to capture attention in the competitive realm of digital content.
