Shaun Chen Celebrates Ex-Wife Michelle Chia’s New Marriage

Actor Shaun Chen has expressed his support for his ex-wife Michelle Chia, following her recent marriage to former actor and property agent Jackson B. Chia, aged 50, tied the knot earlier this month, prompting many to wonder about Chen’s reaction, given their past relationship.
Chen, 46, addressed the topic during a livestream on August 22 while hosting Mediacorp’s e-commerce program, The Wonder Shop, alongside local influencer Tai Tai Chan. The conversation shifted to his past marriages when Chan mentioned that she knew little about Chen, except that he has been married twice. This comment led to a light-hearted exchange about his ex-wife’s new union.
Chen Shares His Thoughts on Chia’s Marriage
During the livestream, which attracted around 400 viewers, Chan noted that many were likely curious about Chen’s feelings regarding Chia’s marriage. Laughing, Chen acknowledged that while people around him were hesitant to approach the subject, he was open to discussing it. “Let me tell you, many people didn’t dare to ask me this question but you dared to ask me,” he said.
Chen revealed he was in Australia when news of Chia’s marriage broke and remarked that friends had been cautious not to bring it up. He recalled, “Only when we met then they were like: ‘Eh so that thing…'” He reassured viewers, stating, “It’s none of my business! [Our marriage] was so long ago, there are no feelings anymore. She’s my good friend, so I give her my blessings.”
Memories and New Beginnings
Chen and Chia were married from 2009 to 2011 after dating for six years. Chen later married Malaysian beautician Celine Chin in 2015, and the couple now has two daughters, aged nine and seven.
While Chan complimented Chen and Chia’s compatibility during their marriage, Chen quickly changed the subject, demonstrating his focus on the present. Chan attempted to steer the conversation towards Chen’s current wife, but he playfully halted her, saying, “Don’t talk about this anymore.” The lighthearted banter continued as Chan remarked on his wife’s beauty, eliciting laughter from Chen.
In a moment of openness, Chen expressed interest in having his wife join a future livestream, saying, “Let me ask [her]. Do you guys want to see my wife on the livestream?” He highlighted her honesty, stating, “She can’t lie and is a very honest person, so if she sells something, she will be very honest.”
