Nathania Ong Returns as Eponine in Les Misérables Singapore Run

The highly anticipated Singapore season of Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular is set to feature several renowned performers, including Singaporean star Nathania Ong, who will reprise her acclaimed role as Eponine. The production, which will run from March 24 to May 10, 2024, aims to deliver a unique theatrical experience with reimagined staging, lighting, and visuals.
On September 30, the production team announced the initial cast, which includes notable West End actors Geronimo Rauch as Jean Valjean and Jeremy Secomb as Javert. All three performers are returning to their roles from the West End production of Les Misérables, promising a familiar yet fresh encounter for audiences in Singapore.
The Arena Spectacular version of Les Misérables distinguishes itself with a cinematic approach that incorporates a full set, a costumed cast, and a live orchestra. This innovative staging is designed to enhance the emotional depth of the story while providing seamless scene transitions that engage the audience throughout the performance.
Due to overwhelming demand, the production will now run for an additional three weeks, showcasing the popularity of Les Misérables in the region. Tickets are currently available through Marina Bay Sands, Sistic, and Klook, with prices starting at S$88. UOB cardholders can enjoy a 20 percent discount on ticket purchases until October 12.
Reflecting on her previous experience playing Eponine in London, Nathania Ong expressed her passion for the role. In an interview with CNA Lifestyle, she stated, “I achieved something big with Les Mis, but from that moment, I want to keep going. I never want to believe that I made it and then stop working hard for the next big project. Whether I’m performing on stage in front of one audience member or thousands, I want to give every performance my all and my best.”
As the countdown begins for this spectacular production, audiences can look forward to a powerful interpretation of a timeless classic, brought to life by a talented cast that spans both local and international talent. The combination of a beloved story and innovative presentation promises to create an unforgettable theatrical event.
