Meryl Streep Films Iconic Sequel Scenes at Dolce & Gabbana Show
Meryl Streep recently brought the character of Miranda Priestly back to life as she filmed scenes for the highly anticipated sequel to *The Devil Wears Prada*. On Saturday, Streep attended the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2026 runway show in Milan, showcasing the fashion house’s latest collection while in character.
Dressed in Priestly’s signature look, Streep donned stylish sunglasses and a striking Dolce & Gabbana vinyl trench coat as she entered the theatre, accompanied by security and fellow actor Stanley Tucci, who reprises his role as her art director. The runway event featured a soundtrack by renowned Italian singer **Patty Pravo**, enhancing the atmosphere as models strutted down the catwalk.
The Dolce & Gabbana press office confirmed that scenes filmed during the show will be included in the sequel, which has been primarily shot in Milan. The location is reminiscent of the original film’s memorable moments, including a scene where Anne Hathaway’s character famously asks, “Can you please spell ‘Gabbana?’”
Runway Highlights and Fashion Choices
The *Dolce & Gabbana* collection showcased a range of nightwear-inspired looks. Attendees can expect to see cozy men’s pyjamas adorned with rhinestones and embroidery, alongside elegant black sheer and lace lingerie. These outfits were layered with a variety of jackets, including leather, brocade, and animal print styles, reflecting a blend of comfort and sophistication.
Footwear options varied from eye-catching stilettos to casual fuzzy slippers, perfect for a relaxed evening at home. The bags featured in the collection were soft and furry, making them ideal for post-night-out comfort.
During their customary bow, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana took a moment longer on the runway, perhaps acknowledging the unique intersection of fashion and cinema. Meanwhile, Streep and Tucci were quickly ushered backstage as the crowd eagerly snapped photos, capturing this extraordinary moment in fashion history.
Fashion Icons Come Together
In a remarkable twist of life imitating art, *Vogue’s* global editorial director, **Anna Wintour**, sat across the runway from Streep. Wintour’s influence inspired the character of Miranda Priestly in the original film, making her presence at the show even more significant.
The sequel to *The Devil Wears Prada* is set to be released in spring 2024, generating excitement among fans of the original film. As Streep and Tucci prepare to return to the screen, this fashion show marks a pivotal moment in the intersection of film and high fashion, highlighting the enduring impact of both the movie and the designers behind it.
