Ken Chu Addresses Absence from F4 Reunion Tour Amid Controversy
Taiwanese singer and actor Ken Chu has publicly addressed his absence from the upcoming reunion tour of the popular boy band F4. The announcement came via his social media accounts on December 8, 2023. Chu, aged 46, revealed that he learned about his exclusion through online reports, a situation he described as surprising.
In his statement, Chu explained that he had previously rejected certain demands from B’in Music, the agency organizing the F4 tour. Although the specific demands have not been disclosed, Chu claimed that following his refusal, the organisers “cut off all contact” with him. Despite this conflict, he expressed his best wishes to fellow F4 members Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Vic Chou, and conveyed hope for a future reunion with them.
F4 Reunion Tour Details
The F4 reunion tour is scheduled to commence on December 19, 2023, with a four-night concert event at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. The concerts will feature performances alongside Ashin from the band Mayday, who recently collaborated with F4 and Jay Chou on the song “Forever Forever.” This track has garnered significant attention, reaching over 19 million views on YouTube.
The absence of Chu from the tour has raised questions among fans and media alike, given his prominent role in the group during its initial rise to fame in the early 2000s. F4, originally formed in the early 2000s, gained a massive following across Asia, becoming a cultural phenomenon with their music and television appearances.
As anticipation builds for the reunion tour, the remaining members of F4 are expected to deliver a nostalgic experience for long-time fans. The concert series not only marks a significant return for the group but also highlights the ongoing popularity of their music in the contemporary music scene.
While Chu’s absence is notable, his public message signals a desire for reconciliation and continued connection with his bandmates. The unfolding events around the reunion tour reflect the complexities of celebrity collaborations and the dynamics within the music industry.
