Ken Chu Addresses Absence from F4 Reunion Tour Amid Controversy
Taiwanese singer and actor Ken Chu publicly addressed his absence from the much-anticipated reunion tour of the boy band F4 on his social media pages on December 8, 2023. The reunion, which features fellow members Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Vic Chou, is set to commence on December 19 with a series of concerts at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China.
In his statement, Chu expressed his surprise at learning about his exclusion from the tour through online reports. He disclosed that he had previously rejected certain demands from B’in Music, the agency organizing the tour, which he stated remain undisclosed. Following his refusal, he claimed that the organizers “cut off all contact” with him.
Despite the tension surrounding his absence, Chu conveyed his best wishes to his former bandmates, expressing hope for a future reunion. He stated, “I wish all the members well and hope to collaborate with them again down the line.”
The reunion tour promises to be a significant event for fans of F4. Joining the group for the concerts is Ashin from the band Mayday, who recently collaborated with F4 and Jay Chou on a new song titled “Forever Forever.” This track has already gained significant traction, racking up over 19 million views on YouTube.
The F4 reunion marks a notable moment in the careers of its members, who gained fame in the early 2000s through their roles in the Taiwanese drama “Meteor Garden.” Fans are eager to see the group’s dynamic once again, despite the controversy surrounding Chu’s absence.
As the tour approaches, anticipation continues to build for the performances, which will showcase the enduring popularity of F4 in the Asian music scene.
