Discover Ikea x Gustaf Westman’s Vibrant Collection at New Bahru
Ikea has launched an exciting pop-up exhibition at The Factory in New Bahru, showcasing an exclusive collaboration with Swedish designer Gustaf Westman. This limited edition collection, which includes the much-discussed “meatball plate,” is set to be available at Ikea’s Alexandra store starting October 23. Customers will be limited to purchasing one piece per design each day, while stocks last.
The pop-up event runs until September 21, from 12:00 to 20:00, allowing visitors a first look at the collection, which is part of Ikea’s annual Vinterfint winter collection. The collaboration reflects Westman’s distinctive design aesthetic, featuring curvy forms and playful colors that are sure to catch the eye.
Westman, a rising star in the design community, has infused the collection with seasonal hues, including traditional reds and greens that evoke the festive spirit of Christmas. These colors are complemented by unexpected shades such as emerald green, bubblegum pink, and baby blue, adding a modern twist to classic designs.
Among the standout items is the rectangular serving plate, affectionately referred to as the “meatball plate.” While it may be ideal for serving meatballs, its versatility allows for a variety of uses, from presenting small appetizers to showcasing decorative items. Another highlight is the striking Strala 2025 LED candelabra in a bold fire engine red. This piece can serve as a stunning centerpiece for dining tables or brighten up any quiet corner in a home.
The collection also includes the bouncy Vinterfint vase, which redefines traditional vase designs. Its spiral support allows for creative arrangements, transforming drooping flowers into an eye-catching display.
Visitors to the pop-up event will have a chance to win an exclusive, autographed piece from the limited edition Ikea x Gustaf Westman collection. This initiative not only showcases innovative design but also engages the community with the opportunity for a unique, collectible item.
The pop-up exhibition is located at The Factory, 58 Kim Yan Road, New Bahru, and is open daily until September 21, providing fans and design enthusiasts a chance to immerse themselves in this vibrant collection ahead of its official release.
