Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh to Premiere Wicked in Singapore
Stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Michelle Yeoh will walk the red carpet in Singapore for the Asia-Pacific premiere of Wicked: For Good> on November 13, 2023. The event, hosted by Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa, promises to be a highlight for fans and a significant cultural event in the region.
Joining the cast at the premiere will be acclaimed actor Jeff Goldblum and director Jon M. Chu, adding to the star-studded lineup. This Singapore premiere serves as the fourth stop in a five-city global tour for the film, which has gained immense popularity since its release.
Last year, Wicked achieved remarkable success as the highest-grossing Broadway film adaptation, amassing over US$750 million globally and securing ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The evening will feature a handprint ceremony before culminating in a special screening at Pantages Hollywood Theatre, celebrating the film’s cinematic achievements.
As part of the festivities, an exclusive fan event will take place at WEAVE within Resorts World Sentosa, allowing attendees to engage with the film’s magic before the premiere. Lee Shi Ruh, CEO of Resorts World Sentosa, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the event. “Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa are thrilled to welcome Wicked: For Good to Singapore,” she stated, emphasizing the event’s significance in showcasing the glamour of Hollywood along with the immersive experience of the resort.
The premiere will mark a grand finale to a year filled with new openings at Resorts World Sentosa, reinforcing its position as a top-tier destination for world-class entertainment. Ms. Lee added, “We invite everyone to join us, feel the magic, and be part of this extraordinary celebration.”
Fans eager to attend the event can purchase tickets starting at S$93 for adults and S$72 for children. Each ticket includes food and beverage vouchers, as well as retail vouchers for use at Universal Studios Singapore.
